She immediately catches the slight twitch in his eyes. Is that pain, longing, or… anger? Sunny is not sure about the emotion that she saw. Anna Servano. The person drawing the blood will need to know their anatomy well because you can’t palpate for a vein, like you would for a human.” Gideon told Dr. Lynn, as he rolled up his sleeves and they began to walk towards the exam room doors.

But after half an hour, there weren't any noticeable changes. The screen still showed the virus was not killed. Jessica didn't quite understand the breakdown chart, she only knew that through the device's imaging, it showed the virus attacking cell bodies, it was an internal view of Mr. Marcus' body. Antonio had explained to them before, black indicating the areas invaded by the virus. From the diagram, Mr. Marcus' liver, stomach, and spleen were all infected by the virus, and it was extremely serious, as his body was almost filled with the terrifying virus, all in a free-floating and mutating state.

I say. "For what she expended." Maret chooses her words carefully. Sets them down like objects she is placing on a surface she isn't sure will hold them. "What she carries, what was revealed tonight, it isn't something we have a reference for. Not in living memory. The Moonblood hasn't manifested fully in generations." She pauses. "She used a significant portion of it in a very short time. The shift. The fight. And then what she did for you." She says that last part without inflection.

He’d heard me introduce myself at the gallery. Still. Hearing him say it did something to me. “I live uptown,” I said, like that explained anything. He just looked at me for another long second. Then he turned and started walking again. I called after him. “Dmitri!” He stopped. Didn’t turn. “You’re bleeding,” I said. He glanced at his hand. Shrugged. “It’s fine.” “It’s not fine.” He finally looked back at me. For the first time, I saw something crack in that iron mask. Not much. Just a flicker. Exhaustion, maybe. Or something softer. Something that scared him more than the guy with the knife.

Lola POV I glared at him angrily. “That’s very childish of you. I forgot to tell you that the doctor said that I can’t bleed too much, and I can’t be infected. Otherwise, I will get hemophagocytic syndrome.” He was still smiling. He gently stroked my lower abdomen. “Do you know what that is? It’s an incurable disease. It’s even worse than leukemia and cancer.” His voice became softer and weaker, then his body sank, and he fell beside me.

I ask, still trying to slow my breathing to normal. "Luke, he's AB negative. No one else in the pack is except our dad, but he's sick," she rambles out quickly while starting to pace. I can hear the beeping of the monitor start to slow down, and I know it is because of his lack of blood. "What about O positive? Can't they go to anyone?" I ask, hardly remembering the biology lesson from when I was a kid. She shakes her head before answering. "Yeah, but wolves don't have O positive blood," she tells me before starting to flip through pages of a book, like she is searching for an answer to her lack of available blood.
