So, later that afternoon, she met with Vanessa.
As always, Vanessa carried herself with perfection. Red seemed to be her favorite color. She was wearing a halter-type red dress. Paired with her blonde hair and gray eyes, she caught everyone’s attention at the hotel lobby.
“Serena, you are late,” Vanessa said, smiling. She was holding a cup of coffee up to her lips.
“I’m not feeling well,” Serena dryly said.
“I can understand. It must be hard on you. I looked into the Hartleys, and they seem to be very nice people. I can understand why Nathan wanted to help,” Vanessa said. She motioned to Serena’s coat, asking, “Would you like the staff to take your coat?”
