The Path Less Traveled

The Path Less Traveled

Zeus replied knowingly. I knew he would of guessed my plans by now. I had already changed my flight to one 2 hours behind her. I was going but she didn't need to know. I would follow behind her just to make sure she was safe. Six months of pure torture was headed my way and I simply didn't care. I had to go. I had to be near her. After the six months I had to come back. Which would add six more months of complete agony. But Ares would be meeting up with her then. The only way her parents could even get me to agree to coming back in six months was to promise he would join her half way through. I had almost given up the beta title not to have to leave her. But they were quick to compromise. Ze

Trades And Orgasms

Trades And Orgasms

Rhode tells him with a nod as Hank disappears through a door behind the front desk. "Now this new house of ours has a lot of bookshelves and not nearly enough books, which I think is a big problem" Rhode announces as he hands me one of the scEloiser guns. "So you have the next hour to run around this gigantic bookstore and purchase as many books as you want to fill up those shelves" Rhode gestures to the building around us, an old two storey room filled with rows and rows and rows of books of all kinds. I used to spend hours wandering around here, carefully budgeting my waitress salary to see how many books I could get from the bargain bins at the front of the store. And now here I am, wi

THE GOODBYE HE MISSED

THE GOODBYE HE MISSED

"Can we go to the bookshop?" They went. The shop occupied a converted house three streets over, with a resident dog named Duchess who greeted Noah by name and a whole shelf dedicated to field guides that Noah navigated with the confidence of a regular. He selected three books with careful deliberation — one on Pacific Northwest raptors, one a slim volume on migratory patterns he'd apparently been eyeing for weeks, and a third that surprised Adrian: a novel about a woman who builds something from nothing, its cover showing a small house under construction against a wide sky. "That one's for Mom," Noah said, setting it on the counter with the others. "She'll like it. Because she's Mom."

great start..concise with nuances. hope it would end the same way. not tooo many chapters that the main characters became watered down with so many side stories. i'm reading along slowly... so that i don't have to wait for updates. keep up the good work, dear author!

I want be clear when I say that I really like the story. It is engaging & draws you in, keeping you needing more. But if I never read the words "specific" or "particular" again, it will be too soon. About 60% of the sentences where they appear can be read without them & carry the same impact.

The Betrayed Wife Is A Secret Billionaire

The Betrayed Wife Is A Secret Billionaire

He came to me before I had even left for this trip with Kenna to view all the Bodega plants throughout the US. He offered me a longer term agreement to which of course I was interested in. I mean who wouldn’t be? The Bodega wine is priceless, and those who can afford it will only drink Bodega. It is the equivalent to the finest champagne in the world. So, as a business decision it made total sense to incorporate their brand into my chain of hotels.

The Bomb and the Weight of My Choice

The Bomb and the Weight of My Choice

I assumed they were atoning their sins in jail, until one afternoon, a shrill alarm shattered the calm. "Level-one alert! Unknown explosive in Central Square! Structure unknown, impossible to defuse!" I rushed to the command center, where the massive screen displayed a bizarre bomb in 360-degree detail. Experts shouted into comms, "It's live! Any move triggers self-destruction!" My eyes locked on the circuit's unique looping pattern. "It's her!" I shivered, recognizing Rita's "genius" design from her coursework. I grabbed my jacket and stormed into Clifford's office, slamming the blueprint on his desk. "It's Rita!"

The Professor, My Mate

The Professor, My Mate

Dan said, and I nodded. Soon after, we got to section B-2, and Beta Dan started pulling out some books. “I believe these ones are more likely to have what you’re looking for,” he said, handing me a book and another while he himself kept busy studying a page. I started to fiddle with the first book, scrolling page by page. The images and writing fonts were good, but not what I came for, so my interest dwindled. I believe I was reading something about rogues from the eastern side when I started to feel woozy, my eyes heavy and battling to stay open.

THE BIDDING ROOM

THE BIDDING ROOM

Inside, the air smelled like old paper and cedar. It felt untouched and safe. She ran her fingers along the spines of books she couldn’t read — Japanese, Russian, Italian. Wars. Economies. Old bloodlines. She saw something sticking in between. A photograph tucked between volumes. She pulled it free. The image stole her breath. Two boys stood in front of a rusted iron gate. One was older, taller, his arm slung protectively around the smaller one. The younger boy’s hair was wild, his face smudged with dirt, but his eyes - her heart stuttered.

Muses Of The Bothy

Muses Of The Bothy

Speaking of which, Mr Bordeaux made his way around her, and started messing with his pots and pans, that was Marias's cue to leave. Whilst Mr Bordeaux was frittering away in the kitchen Maria picked up a book from his collection and sat at the kitchen. The man had an astounding collection of books from Thrillers to books on the economy. He was well versed, and as she turned another page Maria pictured Mr Bordeaux pushing past each page in a methodical way, never skipping to the end to see what happens. Maria respected that but her attention span was grappling with her already despite being a few pages into the book. Once she was done, Maria had a sip of coffee from a cup that was sitting on

SOUGHT-AFTER PEACE

SOUGHT-AFTER PEACE

“Been long I’ve been to this place. More peaceful than my habitat. “ Bode mumbled, grunting as he bent, regarding a tall, dark woman braiding a little girl’s hair, her head stuck between her huge thighs. Bode trudged, walking down a street. He greeted some women sitting outside a bungalow - all attending to different chores with some semi-naked kids with exposed tummies and bums covered partially, playing under a shed. “Afternoon Mama Saki, “ He regarded , entering in quickly as a middle-aged replied, waving him off. Bode unbuckled his sandals, knocking one of the lines up doors in the bungalow and walked in. “Brother Bode!” A slim lady, ebony-skinned, in a blue fitted gown and with thin le
