My hands tightened around her neck, my thumbs pressing into her windpipe.
Her face turned purple, her eyes bulging, gasping, scratching at my hands weakly. I was going to finish it. She deserved to die for what she had done.
“Stop! Diego, stop! You're going to kill her!”
The voice ripped through my bloodlust. I turned to see Luis. He was standing at the entrance, panting, his face pale, his eyes wide with horror, as he stared at Mariana, then at me.
“My grip lessened, but only for a second. “What are you doing here? Get out of here, Luis!” I snarled, my eyes still fixed on Mariana's fading struggle. “This doesn't concern you. Don't get involved.”
