My head felt dizzy, and I stared at him with big eyes, thinking this was going to be it. The moment he would shoot me. I had escaped Anson, only in the end to get killed of by the Mafia. "If I knew you were this absurd," Alessio squinted his eyes, looking at me as if I was the crazy one. "I would've picked another maid." Absurd? "Can I trust you to stay quiet if I remove my hand?" I nodded, my gaze pleading for him to remove his hand, and he did. A wave of embarrassment washed over me, realizing how ridiculous I looked.

There were more guards outside the house and it was more like Alex was now stronger. I raised a curious brow, and Max noticed I was confused. "Boss is now the mafia leader of America and Mexico. He is the head of both countries," he explained.

I put my hand on the man’s shoulder and squeezed it. “Let him go.” I commanded. Only then did he release River. River fell to the floor, coughing and hacking in an attempt to catch his breath. I sidestepped so I was right next to the man I’d spent the night with like he was my personal guard dog. I grew up as a mafia boss’ daughter so I knew sometimes to get your point across you had to show some muscle, and this man was pure muscle—I wouldn’t let him kill River, of course, but River had no idea who the man was which meant it wasn’t as dangerous for the man to act.

Please do not get me wrong; I need the woman. I cannot fucking live without her. But ya, Vic will never allow me near her. So what am I set to do?
