I'm sure your trusted Bogo would have found out you are gone... one way or the other they will find you and once they do, you must reject them or you die!" Malta informed him mockingly before turning around and marching out.

I turn for the door. “Cassian! Stop right there!!” I don't stop. “Don't you walk past that door! If you keep walking, you are DONE!” I already am. The sun warms my face as I step into the courtyard. “Where are you taking me?” Sloane asks, voice low, “Where do you want to go?” “I hear Malta is better this time of the year,” she smiles, and it finally meets her eyes. “What about you?” She asks, squeezing my hand lightly.

Valentina’s POV Outside the oval windows, the sky stretched endlessly. Clouds looked like cotton candy spun into strange shapes, glowing as the sun poured down on them like a field of snow as the private jet flew high. “So… we’re really going to Mallorca in Spain?” I asked Raffaele as the jet jolted with a patch of turbulence. My stomach was already twisted with nausea. “Yes,” he said, brows furrowing with concern. “It’s the best base. We’ll use their marina to get the big boat out, the one with all the equipment. But after hearing about the destination… my whole mood changed…

“There’s a forwarding company that you’ll be hearing about. Morceau Forwardings. A shipping line. Manifest numbers here, 0071, 0099. Crates that move under contractor numbers. A new drop to Malta in three weeks. Email addresses that look innocent: administration@morceauforwardings.com.” She let the tablet rest in her lap while she let his words soak into the small crevice between fear and strategy. She memorized the sounds of the names and the cadence he used. She stored urls and dates, port names and codes. They were pieces she could feed back to Jaxon like cuts of meat on a hook, raw and fresh, but she also needed proof, hard evidence, not just run-on sentences from a man whose ego enjoyed

He kept his job while James had fun with Delilah. VALETTA After having breakfast, James took Delilah to have a walking tour of Valetta, the center and capital of Malta. James walked to hold Delilah's hand wearing summer apparel, baggy pants below the knee, a long-sleeved shirt rolled up to the elbows, and sunglasses. He also pampered her with some of summer's latest branded summer dresses.

The boat rocked with the impact, and the waters below us lit up, beautiful and perfect. Like I said, Maldives wasn't just a vacation, it was a beginning.

She sounded so sassy, as always. “There's something in it for you.” I said to her, As at that point, I hadn't concluded what ‘something’ was, but I'm a fast thinker, and I trust how petty I get when I want something done, so I knew that wasn't going to be an issue for both of us. “Malta.” Lillian said. “I heard it's really beautiful there. I want to go myself, someday.” That sounded suggestive, but I didn't know how I'd ever explain to Emily that I paid for another woman's ticket to our destination vacation.
