I highly suggest reading book one before reading the sequel, but if you don't want to you can manage the second without doing so. The one big thing in the first book was Goddess Selene's curse. My eyes water a bit at his words. My father reenters the room and gasps. I look up to see him staring at the book. "Do you know what that is. It is the first book that has ever been printed in our language. It is a story as old as time but talked about much." He exclaims. He looks so happy and shares my joy. We both love to read, and I know it has been a while since he got to read an actual book. It is a fine first gift, I think.

Rosemary’s Pov “I will eat later…” I say softly , offering him a smile. He exchanges a look with Xavier , but I do not stay for the lectures that I know is coming. Instead I walk to the entrance and sit on the floor in a crossed legged position – my eyes fixated on the fiery red flames that almost touches the sky. I sit out there for a while , enjoying the peace of being alone. At this moment , all I ever want is to be alone. I would often feel my stomach kick me with hunger , as my nose smelt the food that was cooking but I easily turned my attention back to the burning kingdom.

Watching. The cage might gleam gold — but the wolves circled close. The laughter from her quip still echoed when Valentina reached for the tray. The envelope was crisp, heavy, the kind of paper that whispered money and power. Her crimson nails slid beneath the flap. Inside, a single card. No greeting. No signature. Just four words in a hand she didn’t know but already feared: “Blood remembers its own.” Her breath caught. For a moment, the golden hall blurred. The laughter, the music, the crystal — it all thinned into smoke. She felt his eye again, watching, pressing, claiming.

I took the paper and opened it. It was a handwritten list, with titles of books I’d never heard of in my life. “Moonlit Surrender.” I read the first one out loud. “The Kraken's Forbidden Desire.” I looked at the next one. “Claimed by the Beast King.” I looked up at Nala. “What the fuck is this?” “Books.” “I can see that.” I looked back at the list. “Ravished by Moonlight. Surrendering to the Fire King.” I raised an eyebrow. “What are these?”

For a moment, everything was dark—until suddenly Damon found himself in a different place. He was standing in a forest, but something was strange. He was surrounded by fire—like a ring. At first, he thought the fire would hurt him, but it didn’t. Instead, he stood comfortably inside the flames. Professor Steve stopped his incantation, forcing Damon to open his eyes. “What did you see?” For a moment, Damon was silent. Then he spoke. “I saw flames—a ring of fire surrounding me. The flames were touching my skin, but they didn’t burn me.”

ELEVEN I don’t remember much about the ride home.
