Leesa's Advent

Leesa's Advent

The most recent date was sometime in May, 1935—almost eighty years ago! Leesa looked at the back cover and saw the familiar barcode sticker libraries used now to keep track of books, but she doubted this one had ever been used to check the book out. She shoved the book back onto the shelf. Cali grabbed Leesa’s hand. “C’mon.” She took Leesa down a couple of different aisles, making what seemed like several random turns. The place was almost like a maze, and Leesa wondered how Cali knew where she was going. Leesa doubted Cali had ever come up here to study—she wasn’t exactly the studious type—and there was no way she could have needed any of these old books. So what had she been doing up here?

Billionaire's Accidental Wife

Billionaire's Accidental Wife

The gold dome above the town hall, coated with metal from a local mine, was a permanent monument to the city's past. Arriving at the computer shops that looked like some sort of museum and after going through the 2000's security sensors, the chamber opened up to reveal a considerably larger facility than seemed from the outside. A spiral staircase to their right led up to a second story where many of the books looked to be located. This was no ordinary computer store, but rather a public semi-library that was both modern and traditional.

I'm almost done with book 1 and all I can say is you need to read this, what u see in the first few chapters were just snacks, the real thing is when Catherine and Shawn's adventures started to look for his grandfather's treasures. It was like full of twist and your learn alot from this.

She closed the book. "It's mostly old company papers. Nothing exciting." Valeria wasn't convinced. "Would you mind showing me?" Mrs. Brooks hesitated. "I suppose there's no harm." The basement lay beneath the oldest section of the manor. Unlike the polished halls upstairs, these corridors were plain concrete lined with steel shelving. The air smelled faintly of paper and cedar. Motion-sensitive lights flickered on one section at a time as they walked. "This used to be much larger," Mrs. Brooks explained.

The House of the Damned: Sin & Deceit (A Dark Romance)

The House of the Damned: Sin & Deceit (A Dark Romance)

I found him in a bookstore on Green Street, wedged between a tailor and a florist. The kind of place that smelled of aged paper and the particular dry intimacy of rooms that have held a lot of human thought for a long time. Shelves floor to ceiling, the spines of things pressing against each other in the comfortable disorder of a space that had stopped apologizing for itself. Everything slightly cramped. Everything exactly right.

Surrogate of the Sleeping Dragon

Surrogate of the Sleeping Dragon

’ “I have a feeling this one’s going straight into your private collection?” “I already have one. This one’s for a boy who came in. He was kind of disappointed we didn’t have many books on dragons, even though the bookstore is called The Dragon’s Lair.” Rowena snorted. “That’s because all of our collection is being hoarded upstairs.” I winced. It was true. “I’ll make sure he gets this the next time he comes in.” “And maybe bring a book or two downstairs if you’re finished with them,” Rowena groused.

“No? They have comfortable seating in the back, sofas and books for anybody interested.” “Books at a bar?” “Some stories require something more grounded than coffee.” He driven her to the back and it was like something out of a sitcom. Vintage furniture was orchestrated at different points, giving insinuate alcoves and crevices for individuals to talk or read. He coordinated her to a little table by the raise divider. Racks stacked from floor to ceiling, full of battered ancient books. A bow window neglected a little porch with an lit up pond. “This is so charming.” It was as if she’d ventured into a dream. “It’s one of my favorite places.”

Married To The Devil I Betrayed

Married To The Devil I Betrayed

Not security. Not Elena. Lucian. The request startled Elena enough that she looked up immediately from her phone. “You hate bookstores.” “I hate boring bookstores.” Lucian lifted one brow slightly. “And this one is different?” “They have old mechanical stuff upstairs. Typewriters. Maps. Vintage engineering books.” Lucian pretended to consider it seriously. “That does sound aggressively nerdy.” Eli rolled his eyes. “So is that a yes?” Something warm moved unexpectedly through Lucian’s chest.

His Mate, My Spy

His Mate, My Spy

The warmth that once lived there felt quieter now, almost as if the walls themselves remembered everything that had happened inside them. Damien’s gaze drifted briefly toward the couch where Emily had sat listening to stories about their village. For a second, he could almost hear her laugh again. Then Zane’s voice pulled him back. “Storage room’s downstairs.” Damien followed him through the hallway and toward the narrow staircase leading beneath the cabin. The basement smelled like cedar wood, dust, and old paper. Zane switched on the overhead lights, revealing rows of old cabinets, sealed boxes, shelves stacked with journals, and several filing containers arranged carefully against the wal

The Ties The Bond Us

The Ties The Bond Us

"Behind the bookcase. It leads to the basement. That's where she kept everything important!" "Good," I nodded. "Unlock it. If you want to live." He rushed ahead, leading us into the study, pulled a thick book from the third shelf, and with a soft mechanical click, the wall shifted. Behind it: a staircase descending into dark. The basement reeked—chemicals, mildew, blood. The air was thick and wrong. There were jars on shelves filled with things that shouldn't be in jars—eyes, bones, whatever the fuck that floating hand used to be.

The finality in his tone landed like a slammed door. For a second anger flared within me. I wanted to snap, ‘Stop treating me like an outsider, stop acting like a child.’ Instead I took a slow breath, forcing a casual shrug. “I'm sorry. I forgot my opinion is not needed.” April shifted, discomfort plain on her face. “Actually, Kael, where were you thinking? We’ve been juggling options for days.” “There’s an old carriage house rented out for literary salons,” I said. “High ceilings, courtyard garden, walls lined with books. People walk in and instantly feel like readers.”
