Book Basement Novels & Stories

I let out a long sigh. As much as I would have loved to explore the books, pick out a favorite to read, arrange it back in place before he comes, I opted for another activity I head down to the basement. Also, several classic editions of Hemingway’s novels. Now here’s something interesting. A diary. Upon opening it, a name scrawled on the inside cover grabs my attention: “Jebediah Bassler.” Of Bassler House? Bassler Road, and Bassler Memorial Library? This is interesting, to say the least.

The room lit up, and Liana and Isaac had a clear view of the basement. The place was nothing ordinary. It was filled from wall to wall with a series of bookshelves, giving it the appearance of a private library. The shelves were filled with numerous files, and apart from that, the decor of the place was chic and futuristic, thanks to the state-of-the-art gadgets. Archive shelves. Shredding bins. Boxes stacked by year and department. It would almost feel ordinary if not for the sound of paper tearing somewhere in the back. We all hear it.
