The Mafia Boss`s Addiction

The Mafia Boss`s Addiction

he asked, taking another sip of his coffee. "A book," was her dry reply, without even looking up. Nic gritted his teeth. "I'm aware of that. What's the title?" he asked, with less patience than before. "How to kill someone you don't like in two days." Nic had to laugh on the inside. She really was a funny piece of work. She still had yet to learn her manners, but she would. He would be damn sure of that. He walked over to her and snatched the book from her hands. Before she could protest, he read the title to himself. '100 Greatest Love Poems of All Time'. He handed the book back to her and walked to the bar area and sipped some more of his coffee.

The Baron's Cold Proposal

The Baron's Cold Proposal

Her mind seethed at her because he was unsuitable in every way, yet her heart wanted to find him this very instant. A sharp knock at the door made both jump, Sophie went to answer it and Athena heard a quiet, “Yes Sir…much better now…I will”. Returning to the comfort of the fire and chairs Sophie handed her a book tied with a ruby ribbon. Untying the ribbon she saw it was a collection of prints and drawings from the capital cities of Europe. “Baron Fairfax suggested you might like these to read whilst you rest. Isn’t he kind!” “He is yes, what a beautiful book.”

A wonderful story full of characters you love to love and ĺove to hate. I echo the sentiments around the ending but I'm relieved at the lack if true redemption arc (told you - characters you love to hate!)

Warning ends with a .... cliffhanger with no sequel. Great book overall by a talented author. I recommend it, and the cliffhanger doesn't ruin the book. It honestly do with a round of editing for character names being mixed up. This is one of the author's earlier books and is worth the read!

Sweet Seduction

Sweet Seduction

Oh crumbs the feeling was so harsh against her throat and her tongue seemed to burn. Truthfully it tasted like boiled vomit to her and yet Cassie was taking it like water.. However after a few minutes the feeling of boiled vomit lasted and it felt like refreshing to her tummy and strangely she craved more and more which earned her a high five from Cassie. Let's go and dance, Cassie soon spluttered after gulping the wine down and with the help of wine on Rinna's head she accepted and all walked to the floor.

It was clear that all she wanted was trouble. "I can clearly see that you're not doing anything. Your only job in this mansion is to cook. So could you please tell me; just what exactly are you busy with?" Arya sneered while she said those words. She hated those that didn't value or take their job seriously. Seeing that Suzan was silent, Kayla clicked her tongue and rolled her eyes at her behavior. Everyone knew that Arya was a servant like them a while back and some didn't care. She was their new employer, it was her luck. What she didn't understand was why Suzan would spread some rumors about her to tarnish her reputation.

Then he bent down and rummaged through his turtle shell backpack, pulling out a gaudily covered book. He stuffed it into Yosef's hands. "My sister will come to pick me up later, could you read me a novel first?" Yosef looked down at the novel handed to him. The gaudy cover featured a strange title—"Cold CEO's Ninety-Nine Days of Wife-Chasing: Sweetheart, Don't Run." He frowned; Is this novel suitable for kids? Looking at the author's name again, Godber. Just from the name, it felt like this person lacked talent.

The Cold Prince

The Cold Prince

~Avila Everyone sits stiffly around the table, staring down at their food. They have all about half cleared their plate, while mine remains mostly untouched. I'm not entirely sure what it is, but it's some kind of soup with absolutely no seasoning. My stomach turns just looking at it. "It was your favourite meal," Crimson states, eyeing me warily. I'm tired of everyone looking at me like I'm something to fear, like I'm going to explode at any moment. Maybe they don't want to lose me again, but I feel fine.

I said. "Well then," he said. "Please enlighten me: what is your favorite film and book?" "Favorite film is Gone with The Wind, favorite book is Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy." He grimaced. "I half-expected the gushy romance part, but not the lack of happy endings," Adam said. ''Lack of happy endings?!'' I asked. "Says the man whose favorite book is The Art of War..." "I see your point." I leaned forward and pulled out the bag of breakfast that Mrs. Chandler had sent us.

The Cold Duke and the Modern Maiden

The Cold Duke and the Modern Maiden

There seemed to be a tacit understanding between the two about the whole matter which need not be spoken aloud. Some things were better left unsaid anyway. “Lunch is ready!” Melissa said as she opened the door. “Come on!” Both Princess Katherine and Lord Benjamin followed Melissa to the kitchen, wondering what dishes had she cooked. What greeted them was an array of weird-looking dishes, which they had never seen before. “Melissa, what is this dish?” Princess Katherine asked. “This is called a hotpot. Well, technically, we lack of some things but I adjusted it using whatever we have. Please try it. This pot contains spicy stew and this is not spicy.”

Served on a Platter

Served on a Platter

Her warm breath brushed against my ear as she whispered, "Curtis, I'd have to test it out to know whether it's to my taste." Her hand slid down from my Adam's apple, eventually resting on my belt. She looked pleased. "Hmm... not bad." It suddenly clicked in my mind. This private chef job was about more than just cooking. I was the one being served, in a way I hadn't expected. I had seen people promoting their adult services online, and I had also seen job posts about private chefs, where a couple would usually show up to do actual cooking. I never expected to fall victim to this "false advertisement".
