Yvette and I fell to the ground, and I stayed put on the floor for a while, catching my breath. Yvette suddenly gasped, sitting up with her eyes open. “Nice. You chose to wake up now.” I said with a roll of my eyes. “The book.” She mumbled. “It’s gone.” I said. But it was only a brief shadow this time and then it was gone. "Well I guess we need to get to work then," Krista said, "Get out your work book. I think we were on page 112 when we went off last time." Callista dutifully bent over from her chair and grabbed her backpack. Her ACT book was still in there. But as she bent over she could have sworn she saw Callista trying to stare down her shirt to look at her cleavage. But when she got back up with her book, Krista was carefully taking a note in her spiral notebook.

We walk past her walking towards the books that were in the back of the store. I turn back to look at her, I get scared as her face looked burned and her face was melting off her skull. I watched as every member of Chaos’ family cut their palm open and make a trail of blood from where they stood to where the urn was placed without a hitch or pause in their chant. I felt the moment when a change occurred to the power flowing around and saw the exact moment when the urn went up in flames. The brighter it burned, the higher the chants went and the more it rattled. I held my breath when the lid of the urn flew right off of it as if kicked before it burst into pieces. The grimoire turned out to be the largest book Cassandra had ever seen, with pages made of parchment illuminated with tracery, and it was open to a page thickly covered with elegant, intricate writing.
