One never knew when that information could come in handy. Plus, it’d help to pass the time and keep me busy. Sounded like a win-win to me. There was some type of writing on the front that I couldn’t read, but I could feel the power radiating off of the book. Strangely, Bex couldn’t feel it. I opened the cover, revealing an intricate colored illustration that showed a large silver wolf standing below a blood moon, its head tilted back in a howl. Light from the moon fell in rays onto the wolf.

Not sure exactly what I was looking for but I figured I’d know it when I see it. After walking back and forth down a couple isles, I turned the corner to go down a third row of shelves when something caught my eye. I walked straight to this book that was pulled out further than the rest. I tried to blow some of the dust off and all that managed to do was send me into a sneezing fit. I pulled the book out and looked at the cover. I could tell was that it was an old book; it looked like it could crumple to a million pieces at any time. I wiped some of the dust off the front cover but there was nothing on it. No title or author or picture; nothing.

Artemisia had briefly forgotten that that day wasn't normal, she's starting to realize, and think, that maybe she's not the one who's going crazy. The girl approached the shelves and Helga's voice danced again in her mind. "The navy blue cover book will tell you a story, I can't tell you which one, only the book is entitled to that." Artemisia didn't understand, but soon found the book near the second door. It was a heavy book, but not as thick as expected. It had a glow reminiscent of sunbeams touching the greenish water of a river or lake. It also had nymphs drawn on the cover and side of the leaves.

The book has a black leather cover and on the center of the cover, there is a glass bulging bubble that's filled with some kind of red liquid. Please don't be blood. I bend to pick up the book and stumble back a bit. It's heavy and I lug it into the room kicking the door shut with the back of my heel before moving to sit down on my bed. "Who left you at my door." I openly think as I read over the cover. Elgadah Furrucci presents. Advanced Spells and Enchantments. English translation. The words are printed in italics across the cover. I run my hand over the cover and I can feel the light layer of dust on it. My hand stops at the glass bubble and I avoid touching that part.

I peel off the leather cover and find myself admiring and caressing the intricate design of the book cover. In its center, 3 moons are carved in the thick front cover. A full moon in the middle, flanked by to mirrored crescent moons. The full Moon hosts inside of it a tree with arrows instead of leaves, a smooth tree trunk line and 2 symmetrical curved roots pointing right and left. One could tell that the carving was actually burned wood, manufactured in a perfect style, but what was weird and beautiful in fact was that the golden-

Look closer. Her gaze settled on a particularly weathered book tucked away near the corner. Its cover was simple, but a faint embossed design caught the light - a pair of intertwined wolves beneath a crescent moon. The image sent a shiver down her spine, and her fingers tingled as she pulled it from the shelf. She opened it carefully, the pages crackling with age. The script was ornate, the kind that took a moment to decipher, but the accompanying illustrations made her breath catch. Drawings of wolves with hollowed eyes and jagged teeth, their forms twisted and monstrous, filled the margins.

However, when I reached the spot where the presence seemed strongest, I was startled to find not a person but a book. It looked different from the many tomes and manuscripts filling the shelves of the library. The book was leather bound, and instead of facing me with its spine, it was placed on the shelf with its front cover facing me. It was dark—beautiful and deep obsidian. The edges were threaded and swollen because what I guessed had to be antlers were sewn into the edges. In the middle laid a blood-red jewel that seemed to shine in my face with its own light. The book was pumping with energy. I swear, it sounded like it was whispering to me, calling to me.

I let myself into the room and went straight to the drawers where I saw the book the last time I was there. Luckily, it was still there. I raised it up to the light and looked at the cover. I didn’t have enough time to look through it to find what I was searching for, but from the cover, which was a picture of what seemed to be someone between two worlds with a woman with hair as white as the moon itself opening her hands and facing it towards the person, a part of me just knew that it was what I was looking for.
