Ivan Jr. is taller than most kids his age, and while he might be slender, he’s too heavy for me to carry without risking a fall. I can’t afford another accident with my boy. But I know that if necessary, I’ll muster the strength to carry him. Yet, before I can process the situation further, Ivan signals for me to shift back. As I do, he leans inside, effortlessly lifts Ivan Jr. from the seat as if he weighs nothing, and carries him inside.
