It was a perfect fit. Tara scoped the room for a place to put it. Maggie insisted she keep the book safe. The second-floor den had an enormous bookcase built into the wall. If she placed it on the top shelf it could easily blend in with the array of books of all shapes and sizes that were stuffed, shoved and crammed in rows from floor to ceiling. She felt a little light headed when she stood up. She couldn’t decide if it was from the power emanating from the book she held close to her chest or simply because she stood up too fast. He sits next to me, picking me up and placing me on his lap. “What are you reading?” Daniel mumbles into my hair. “That book I started. One of Us Lying” I show him the cover. “How is it?” He draws circles on my stomach. “Its really good. Definitely one of my favorites. I’m on page one hundred and seven” I shiver. “Damn girl, you read that fast” He laughs. “Yeah” I fold the corner, saving my spot and place the book down. “What are you wearing?” Daniel laughs, picking at the silky material.

Darius flipped through the book reading some things. "Yet, he was found around the area a little far from his home many times, reading this diary as you said that contain some insane stuffs can only mean that he is a major suspect." Darius concluded and only hoped he was very right. Daniel combed his hair in frustration walking around further. He had been restive throughout the night taking his anger out at anything that gave him privilege to. "How did you manage to get hold of this diary?" Darius signalled to the book that he had just finished flipping through.

I ask, while having my eyes torn towards him. Daniel has a novel held up in his hands, from nowhere. I guess his reading addiction has not faded a bit, as he doesn’t care to look up. He reads while replying to my question. “No, there isn’t an issue” he states. “They left to celebrate” he states. “Celebrate? “ my eyes lift “celebrate what? “ my inquisitive parts catch on. “To celebrate your engagement” Daniel replies, still glued to his book. My head tings at his response. He sure doesn’t know what he’s saying, or is definitely lost in the pages of his book, that makes him forget, I’m not here among them.

She wished she could whisk him away and kiss him some more, drink in the light of his eyes to her content, but that would have to wait until he recovered and was stronger again. Having him here like this was enough for now. She couldn't ask for anything more from the Moon Goddess, if it was the goddess's hand indeed who had let her keep him. "Take this; consider it a memento from me," he says, holding the book out to me. I raise an eyebrow. I take the book from his hand and look at the cover, which depicts a couple embracing. I check the title, which reads: "Farewell to Humanity." "Thank you." "You're welcome." I say nothing more and head toward the path I memorized leading to the bedroom. I lie down on the bed and stroke the book's cover. I start reading and don't know how much time passes, but when I come to, the day has already dawned.

I dump my bag on the floor and read through the shelf while pulling books out and mumble as I go. ‘Even a book can be dangerous in the wrong hands.’ ‘Ignite.’ ‘Hell is empty and all the devils are here.’ ‘You’ll make bad choices. I say and we walk up and down the library isles. I climb and jump to get books off of shelves and Aidan has to catch me a couple of times when I fell.
