It was numbered in Roman numerals so he couldn’t tell how many pages but it was certain that it was over a thousand page. He had barely read a line from the first page when his phone beeped multiple times. Mr. Yugo had sent him the same text five times. He chuckled. When he starts reading, he barely blinks, he ignores his phone and everything around him. He only picked up his phone because, the first page was the acknowledgement page and he wasn’t glued to the book, yet. “Stay inside the library. The full moon has began to form. Be safe.”- Mr. Yugo.

She pointed to the one she wants. Wunmi checked the style Joke was pointing at, she shrugged and responded. "It’s not very complicated, I'm still around till tomorrow evening. I'll teach you tomorrow morning after breakfast." "Yay!" Joke jumped and hugged Wunmi. "Thank you." Wunmi smiled fondly at her, then she left with Lara to her room in the house. In the room, Wunmi took one of the books in the shelf and started checking it. Go Cheng Lung’s Business Mathematics. She read in her mind.

I tell her, remembering I am now her new tutor. "Okay," she sighs. "What would you like to read?" I ask, and as if I made her day again, she smiles brilliantly and answers: "Ovid's Metamorphosis!" I can't help but laugh at her enthusiasm. "Why that book?" I am intrigued a little girl would be so excited to read a book meant for college students. I should know. I had to read the book as part of my mythology elective. "Because of the gods and goddesses!" She simply answers.

At first glance, it was just a record of betrayal—shell companies, offshore routing numbers, and signatures that looked suspiciously like forgeries of all four brothers. "Wait," Lila said, leaning in. She pointed to the bottom corner of page twelve. "Look at the page numbers. They aren't sequential." I frowned, looking closer. The page numbers didn't run 1, 2, 3. They ran 11, 4, 18, 9, 1. "It's a book cipher," I whispered, my heart beginning to race. I grabbed a notepad and a pen. Using the page numbers as coordinates against the first letter of the first word on each page, a message began to emerge. It wasn't a list of traitors. It was a warning from the Chairman’s past.

Game over. She looked around the small study for numbers. It took her a while to see them because they were hidden as Orenic letters—small markings her father must have engraved by hand on the leather spine of the books. She matched the first dice to the Orenic numbering system he used and found the book. It was in all other ways identical to the other books on the shelves. From the second dice, she got the next number—the page in the book.

“Okay, well if you give Rigs directions we can start there and work our way out, see if we can find him.” “Thank you.” “You're welcome. Would you want to come back to the compound with us?” Porter asked. “What's the compound?” “Oh that's where we live. Its an old prison. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing place but it's secure and its home.” “You mean there's more of you?” “Yeah, a lot more. I think there's about four hundred of us in total.” “Wow. I didn't think...” She trailed off. “I haven't seen anyone but my brother in weeks.” She stated and the com's went quiet for a while.
