"Damn. This is going to take us a whole lifetime." I lifted my arms like I was in prayer and closed my eyes as I chanted the revealing spell. I half expected to see it glow amongst the other books, exposing itself, but nothing. I presumed it was not in the spot where I stood, so I moved to the next, and the next row, repeating the spell. She started whispering some things into her ears and Rose tried keeping herself conscious but then whatever Ciara was saying was really affecting her. She shook her head to get rid of the sleep but failed. Ciara was going through her memory. She walked through several places. She got to a place and saw several boxes. Some were barely closed while some were opened. Then she looked around and saw a box with a spell surrounding it. It looked like a very old box. She narrowed her eyes to read the inscription on it but could not see it clearly. It has a lightening spell and a lot of protection spells around it. She walked slowly towards it and examining it with her eyes.

I said, and she sighed, then walked to the table room and pulled out a chest of drawers, from which she retrieved an old spell book. “I would do anything for you, Arya; you are a wonderful and respectable woman, and this is for Leo. The spell you are asking me to do is dangerous, but if at all it guarantees that we can save Leo, I will do it. I don’t recall the herbs needed; do you have any idea where we can get them?” She asked as she perused through the spell book. “It is a yarrow and a rue, but I can’t recall the spell,” I said as I played with my hair. I was nervous, and anyone seeing me could sense that too.

I pulled out a dusty, leather-bound grimoire from my satchel, the pages filled with archaic runes and spells passed through the generations. My fingers fluttered through the pages until I found what I was looking for. "This spell is designed to bind one's mental pathways, making them invisible to those who would seek to trespass," I said, my voice taking on a teacher-like tone. We spent the next hour, under that blanket of stars, reciting incantations and forming protective circles around Crystal, drawing upon the latent power of the forest and the steadfast shine of the moon.

"Is that... the book of spells?" Axel asked. "Yes, it is," she answered with a small smile that states she didn't expect Axel to know anything about that.

Elias nodded and sprinted off. I stayed beside Selene, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “You’re stronger than this,” I muttered. “Come on, fight it.” Elias returned a moment later with the thick, ancient spellbook. Its leather cover was worn and pulsing faintly as if the spell was still active within it. He opened the book carefully and flipped through the pages until he found the right one. “There,” he said, pointing at the incantation written in crimson ink. “It’s a disappearance spell. Meant to send the victim to a limbo or a location chosen by the caster.”

It felt heavy in my hands, the weight of it somehow more than just physical. I flipped it open, the pages rough beneath my fingertips. The text was handwritten, the ink slightly faded but legible. Leisurely, he counts them and places the gold coins in a pouch, then tosses it to the floor, causing some to spill from the untied money pouch to the ground. I smirk at this, my lips tugging even more as I watch the filthy hag struggle to bend to her knees. Then she stuffs them into the pouch and pockets the full pouch somewhere in the shawl around her hunched shoulders. She looks exhausted. Mom is leaning over her shoulder, pointing at a page. “This one is a basic cleansing spell. It clears negative energy and stabilizes your aura. You’ll need it before you attempt anything more advanced.” Raven nods, rubbing her temples. “Okay. And the potion?” “That’s a focus draught,” Mom says. “It sharpens your senses. Helps you channel magic without overwhelming yourself.” Raven sighs. “There’s so much. I don’t know how I’m supposed to learn all this fast enough.”
