|4 Months Later| The snores from Alana filled the room. Eva sat up in her bed. The pads of her fingers glided across the page of the book. One upside to being blind and reading a book? She didn't need light to read. Eva could read in the dark until her heart's content, Aside from Alana's slight snores and the thumping hearts from everyone inside the PackHouse. The night was quite serene.

However, just when she thought that she had found an amazing item, she immediately got disappointed. The girl’s lips immediately ended with a thin line as the sparkle in her eyes disappeared. She thought what she found earlier was so amazing because of the light it was emitting but it turned out just a plain, brown book without a title nor even the author's name. The only parts she could flip were the front and back hard cover. The light also disappeared as soon as she tried flipping the covers—that made her think; maybe she was just hallucinating earlier.

I had lost a lot of blood. My head started swimming around and I felt light-headed but I willed myself to stay conscious. "Deliciae, please speak clearly. That can't be right. You never mentioned anything about a baby to me." He was terrified and hurt. It was easy to tell. I wanted to comfort him but I couldn't. I looked behind him and saw his mother staring at me and I thought I saw a small smirk on her face but I couldn't be sure. It could have been a trick of the light or something.
