"Dad Please" Eva whimpered.
"Beta quiet" Alexandrov commanded.
"Eva, I will handle this. You are not to question my authority again and next time you try to sever a bond with your family be prepared for the consequence." Alexandrov bit out in anger.
"Alpha Vasiliev, let the vampire stay here as a maid. I can assure you that she will not be mistreated and we can avoid a war." The King spoke out with a facade of a Calm demeanor. He was seething but he was no fool. The Alpha before him had power that rivaled his own. He had to be smart about how to handle this situation.
"Will all due respect your Majesty, Go Fuck Yourself" Alexandrov hissed out before turning on his heels and walking out of the throne room with his family.
Alexandrov knew very well that he had just declared war on the King but he couldn't let Eva stay in this despicable place any longer. He wasn't going to leave his best friend's daughter to fend for herself against an unreasonable mate.
If the prince couldn't see Eva's worth then he wasn't going to let the Prince see Eva at all.
As they reached the woods everyone but Eva shifted into their wolf. Alana laid down to allow Eva to get on. Eva could manage to run through the woods at home because she grew up in the territory but these woods were new and Alana knew even with Eva's heightened senses she would get lost.
Eva held onto Alana for dear life and tried not to cry over the mate rejection any longer. She needed to be strong or her father might just head back into the castle and finish the job he was desperately trying to do earlier.
This was just like the time she was left at the pack. She knew that her parents loved her but she couldn't help the feeling of abandonment and betrayal that featured in her heart. That was exactly why she refused to get close to anyone now. Somehow she was once again that scared little 5-year-old girl.
As they neared the private Jet the sound of footsteps could be heard following them. Everyone knew that they were the King's guard. The King had sent them to capture them and bring Eva back for the Prince.
Alexandrov and Antonio abruptly stopped and turned to face the guard.
"Alana, keep running, we will meet you on the plane" Alexandrov commanded.
Alana simply continued to run. Now with a newfound strength. She knew her father and Antonio could handle themselves. She had no worries.
Eva could hear the steps of 6 wolves. The King had only sent 6 wolves after them? How odd. Eva held on tighter to Alana but continued to listen to what was going on behind them. She could hear the growls and whimpers the wolves emitted as they fought with the Alpha and Beta of the Green Forest Pack.
The Alpha and Beta were a force to be reckoned with. She almost felt bad for the guards that had to fight against them... Almost.
Alana came up on the airstrip and started to slow down as she neared the plane. She stopped running and Eva climbed off. Alana shifted back into her human form and held onto Eva as they border the plane. No words were exchanged between them as Eva sat down and Alana put some clothes on.
Alana sat down on the seat she was originally in on their way here and sighed. She wanted to break the tension but didn't know how to comfort Eva. Alana had yet to find her mate.
"So I guess we will have to wait until Next year to attend the International Alpha Meeting huh?" Alana whispered.
Eva simply started to laugh at Alana's question. Her best friend was terrible at comforting someone but she had to admit it. Alana did know how to make Eva laugh.
"I knew it would be interesting this year" Eva whispered.
Alana laughed with her best friend and pulled her in for a hug.
"I'm glad you didn't stay behind with that prick of a prince" Alana whispered into Eva's ear.
"How am I going to run a pack without you?" She added.
"You have your brother and sister to help"
"Those hooligans? You expect me to run a pack with the twins from Hell?!" Alana feigned heartbreak as she spoke.
Eva continued to laugh at Alana's tone. Axel and Abigail weren't that bad. Sure when they were younger they were little devils but Alana was no saint either.
The sounds of heavy breathing caught the attention of Eva and Alana. Both the Alpha and Beta climbed into the Jet. They walked into the room and put some clothes on. They walked out in shorts and sat in front of Alana and Eva.
Alexandrov commanded the plane to take off. They all placed their seat belts on and waited for the plane to take off.
"How many did the king send?" Alana questioned as she looked at all the dried blood on her father and uncle.
"6 guards" Alexandrov spoke as he tried to catch his breath.
"You're losing your touch old man" Alana joked with a smile on her face.
"How dare you. I'll have you know I am in my prime!" Alexandrov spoke out in pride.
Eva tried to hold in a laugh while Alana rolled her eyes.
The plane started to move and Eva finally let go of the breath she was holding in. She could finally relax.
"When we get back to the Pack, I need you to contact our Allies, when the war starts we need to have a backup," Alexandrov ordered Antonio.
Antonio simply nodded at his Alpha and looked at his daughter. How could this beautiful child be cursed with such a despicable mate? She was the light in a dark tunnel. Her mate should have been someone way better.
The plane finally took off and Eva whimpered as her ears began to fill with pressure from the rising Altitude. Alana handed her a piece of gum which Eva greedily took from her.
"Alpha Vasiliev, when I tried to sever the bond with the pack why didn't it take?" Eva questioned.
A growl erupted from Antonio at the memory of what his child had tried to do. He planned on telling Misty and they would decide on a good punishment for Eva when they landed. How dare she try to sever her Pack Bond. That was sacred.
"Your name. You said your name wrong." Alexandrov spoke nonchalantly.
"My name is Eva Kora, daughter of Nerine Kora. How is that wrong?"
"When you joined the pack you joined it under the name of Eva Stone. Don't you remember?"
Eva thought back to the day she was 15 years old and was sworn into the Pack as the daughter of a Beta. She then remembered that to honor her adoptive family she was sworn in as Eva Stone. Although she had not officially changed her last name she was able to join under that last name.
"Right, I guess in the heat of the moment I must have forgotten" Eva whispered.
Antonio said nothing. He was as quiet as a mouse. With all of the pent-up anger, he had no one dared to speak to him. Alex knew he had to let Antonio cool off. Between the Prince's rejection and Eva almost severing the Pack Bond he was going to boil over in wrath.
"Daddy... I'm sorry" Eva whispered when no one else said anything.
"Are we not enough for you?" Antonio yelled as he slammed his hands on the table.
Eva flinched at his outburst. She had seen her father angry multiple times but he had never been angry with her. This was all new territory. Eva had to tread carefully.
"I didn't say that"
"Do you not care about your mother and me? Are we just some weird people that took you in?"
"No Daddy you know-"
"Then fucking explain to me how in the heat of a moment you would sever all ties with us for some piece of shit prince."
"Daddy I didn't-"
"Or is that what you have wanted all along? Huh? To hell with your mother's feelings and mine right?"
"Dad-"
"Explain it to me, Eva, explain to me how you were planning on just leaving us without remorse." Antonio seethed.
"ENOUGH!" Eva yelled surprising everyone.
Eva had never in her life risen her voice at anyone. No matter how angry she got.
"I COULDN'T LOSE ANOTHER MOTHER AND FATHER AGAIN. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH IT HURT WHEN ALPHA TOLD ME MY PARENTS HAD DIED? How much I cried silent tears for people I would never see again. Do you have any idea how much that hurt? Just thinking about the war between the king and possibly losing you and your mother was more than I could handle." Eva spoke out as tears fell from her eyes.
"I can't lose you guys and if that meant severing the pack ties and refusing the Beta title I was going to do it," Eva added in a whisper.
Antonio watched as his daughter opened up to him. He watched as her face contorted into that of a bawling baby. Memories of how Eva used to cry when she was younger fill his head and he can't help but try to swallow the lump in his throat.
In his rage, he didn't see that his child, the light of his eye was desperately trying to hold onto her emotions.
Eva excused herself and ran into the room. She just wanted to be alone. She felt pathetic crying in front of everyone like that. She could only imagine how ugly she looked.
After a few moments, Antonio excused himself and went after his baby girl.
He barged into the room like a swat team and found his daughter crying on the floor. Antonio sat down next to her and pulled her onto his lap like he used to do when she was a child.
Eva clung to her father as tears continued to fall from her eyes. Her arms snaked around his neck as she dug her face into his shoulder. Antonio soothed his child by softly rubbing her back.
Although Eva had grown into an adult in his eyes she was still the scared little 5-year-old girl that clung to her father to cry.
"I'm sorry" Antonio whispered as he continued to rub Eva's back.
"I was so angry at Prince Cole that my rage blinded me from seeing how much you were suffering. Forgive me, my precious baby girl."
Eva simply nodded into his shoulder but refused to let go.
"Don't worry about the war either, your father is still in his prime" Antonio joked.
A chuckle slipped from Eva's lips as she pulled away from her dad and looked at him.
Antonio wiped the tears from Eva's cheek and continued to rub her back.
"Also, please don't tell your mother I started a war" Antonio whispered causing Eva to chuckle some more at his request.
Eva simply nodded and once again hugged her father.
"That little shit!" Misty screamed as rage filled her veins.Alana had to explain why they were back earlier than usual to her aunt Misty. Simply because her Uncle Antonio was too afraid to tell her the truth.Eva simply twiddled her thumbs as she could hear Misty throw and break things downstairs. Alana was only halfway into telling Misty and Amelie what had happened at the castle and so far Misty was raging.By the sound of it, Misty had thrown a flower vase at the wall."I'll Kill him," Misty seethed in anger."I. WILL. KILL. HIM""Aunt Misty, I haven't finished" Alana whimpered as she tried to finish telling her the whole thing.Eva sighed and placed a pillow over her head to try and muffle the sounds that came from downstairs. Eva was currently in bed under the covers hiding from the world."HE DID WHAT?!" Misty yelled once again. It was now that Eva had sat up and realized she forgot to tell Alana not to tell her mother that her father had started a war for beating up the prince
Eva sighed and closed her eyes. She let the warmth of the sun kiss her pale skin. Two months had passed since the declaration of war between the Green Forest Pack and the Royal Family. So far Alexandrov was able to gain the alliance of 4 packs. The Red Moon pack, The Blood River Pack, The Wildflower Pack, and a Makeshift pack that called themselves the rogue pack. The rogue pack consisted of more than just werewolves. Under the Alpha’s control were a Demon, a couple of rogue wolves, and two witches. The rogue pack had a female pack alpha. She wasn’t of Alpha blood herself but she was a daughter of a very strong warrior. She was granted the gift to lead in exchange for her wolf. Many didn’t validate the rogue pack as an official pack for the simple fact that a. The Alpha didn’t carry Alpha blood and B. the Alpha couldn’t shift. Alexandrov was currently meeting with the other Alphas to see what the plan was going to be. Alexandrov said they wouldn’t attack the Kingdom just yet but he
|4 Months Later|The snores from Alana filled the room. Eva sat up in her bed. The pads of her fingers glided across the page of the book. One upside to being blind and reading a book? She didn't need light to read. Eva could read in the dark until her heart's content, Aside from Alana's slight snores and the thumping hearts from everyone inside the PackHouse. The night was quite serene.Eva could hear the leaves moving in the wind outside. It was very relaxing. These past four months had been a bit tough on Eva. Often she would find herself thinking about her mate. She wondered if he was okay or if he had eaten. Eva didn't understand why she cared about him. He was awful to her, and the last time she saw him was six months ago.She figured it was the mate bond that had her worried about Prince Cole. She tried her b
The trip back home felt way shorter than the trip to the Rogue pack. Eva continued to lead her team. Only now, her team had grown double in size thanks to the warriors from the rogue pack.Eva couldn't figure out what the play was. Did the King want to attack each pack with such little warriors? The King should know that he would lose. It would have been better to attack one pack at a time, starting with the strongest. As Eva thought about the Kingdom's ultimate plan, the group finally arrived at the Green Forest Pack. Eva met up with Alana, who had stayed behind with some warriors to protect the elders and the children and their mothers who were human."Any news?" Alana questioned with worry as she ran her eyes over Eva to check for any injuries.
When they finally reached the Green Forest Pack, Eva let out a sigh. She was exhausted. She had never felt so exhausted in her life.As they neared the Packhouse, many of the warriors from the rogue pack left and headed home. Eva entered the Packhouse and was quickly bombarded with the smell of breakfast. Bacon, Eggs, Pancakes, coffee, and Toast.Eva ran up to her room and grabbed a change of clothes. She listened for her best friend and smiled as she heard her in the alpha office, speaking with warriors and pack members. It seemed Alana's work was yet to be done.It gave Eva enough time to head to the bathroom and shower. After a quick warm shower, Eva sat on her bed and relaxed. The day was starting, and yet she felt like she needed a long nap.
| On The Jet |“Have you prepared for what you are going to say to the King?” Alana questioned as she crossed one leg over the other and sat back in her seat.“I am going to politely request assistance from them,” Alexandrov said with a smirk.“Dad, that's terrible preparation.” Alan laughs at her father.“I was thinking Eva could speak to the King.” Alexandrov smiled as he looks at the vampire reading a book.“With all due respect Alpha that is a terrible idea!” Eva exclaims as she slams her book close in surprise.“Why not?”“M
The music hummed in Eva’s ears. The soothing sound of the piano relaxed her as she read her book. She was completely cut off from the real world and was totally immersed in her book.Although Eva would usually stay alert, for some reason she felt like she could be at ease. Maybe it was because she was with Alana. She felt safe and secure. She had no need to fear anyone or anything. That was until someone tapped her shoulder and made her jump out of her skin. She roughly pulled her earphones from her ears and closed her book.”Can I help you?” Eva questioned as she sat up and listened for who was around her.”Sorry I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to come and say H
| At The Castle |”His Highness will see you in just a moment.” One of the castle workers spoke as he led everyone into a large office.Alexandrov thanked the man as he excused himself and left all three of them alone.”What do you think he’ll be like?” Alana questioned as she helped Eva to her seat.”Alana, I beg of you please behave.” Alexandrov warned.”Daddy, I always behave.” Alana smirked.Alexandrov and Alana both took a seat and waited for the King to show up.”You are awfully quiet” Alana spoke up as she glanced at Eva.&
