Book Review The North Water Novels & Stories

I wish Stella was here to give me advice on what to do with these guys, although Mac is there for me, she sometimes doesn't understand. Once I arrive home, I decide to take another shower since the one I had with Korey earlier didn't count. After freshening up, I head downstairs to grab a bite to eat before retreating to my room for some much-needed reading time. It's been a while since I've had the chance to indulge in a book, so I pick up my favorite one - Nora Roberts' "Northern Lights." Don had been saving it since September, when he had finished the essays. He had placed it on the shelf above his desk, the designated holding place for the Christmas book, and had not opened it once.

No one has found the bodies yet, though, so theres still a lingering hope out there that they're alive. I sigh as I crawl under the thick quilt, flicking on the lamo beside me as I pull out my latest find at Barnes and Nobels: The Winter Garden by the famous Kristin Hannah. This woman's books are truly amazing. Then, after an hour long reading session, I find my eyes beginning to shut against my will, so I set down the book on the bedside table and shut off the lamp. ~ The next morning...

A white glow that warped into the shape of a bird before plunging into the watery abyss. The glow remained, shimmering as it moved below the surface. But yeah, it is more a journal though, don’t you think?” He mulls over this a few seconds, using those seconds to finish my tie and he takes a step back to admire it. “I mean, yeah. But sometimes I come across the most intimate details, written so vividly that I think, this read like a diary.” I raise a brow. He nods to the table, where he’d already set our food. “Like?” He gives me a startled glance, but I only wait for him to speak. “Like the auto biography of Abram Northwood,” Asher has a twinkle in his eyes when he talks about one of the founding fathers of our dear old ice town. I’m not sure how I feel when he talks about dead men like this.

“You did nothing wrong.” Her pulse refused to slow. The Northern Wolves. The book. She had taken it without understanding why, back when escape had been all instinct and terror. Taken it from Lucian’s study, heart racing as if it already knew it mattered. It told a history Wildbourne never taught. Wolves as balance. Hunters as something broken long ago. Some nights she believed it completely. Other nights, she feared it was dangerous just to read. It had become Ever’s favourite story.
