he muttered, then slowly—carefully—dropped it in.
The moment it touched the surface, the water reacted—but not in a normal way. Instead of a brief splash and fading ripples, something unnatural occurred. Perfect, concentric rings spread outward, not dissipating as they should but continuing to pulse as if the water itself had come alive. At the center, the small object buzzed loudly, sending another strong vibration through the liquid. But this was no ordinary vibration. The surface remained eerily still, undisturbed, while beneath it, the ripples continued, moving and shifting in a way that defied logic—visible, yet somehow untouched by the world above.
I took a step back, suddenly uneasy.
