He had taken an urgent team-building order from a large company that afternoon, earning over 100 dollars just from the delivery fees and tips. Watching him drive away on his motorcycle, I smiled involuntarily. My "powerful words" used to be a knife hanging over others' heads, a jinx that only brought disaster, but after leaving that dark place full of suspicion and malice, the power had transformed into a blessing that could bring good fortune. The wind chimes jingled, and a beautiful woman in plain clothes walked in. She was the young police officer who, despite the Shaw family's pressure, had insisted on collecting evidence to uncover the truth in the emergency room corridor.

Theodore invited me to meet him at a restaurant at seven on Saturday night. That was enough to shock the entire family, then they became worried. Theodore held enormous influence and power in Harbor City, and his temper was even harder to predict. Someone had once said the wrong thing in front of him and Theodore had bankrupted him for it. It's just the first chapter and I've written half a page full of lessons. All I wanted to do was just lie in bed and read the book all day, but I have things to do. I reluctantly roll out of bed, brush my teeth, wash my face, do my skin care, and change into my yoga clothes, moving with practiced ease.

As much as he wanted to sit in the plush corner next to the library to dig in, he didn't have the luxury of time. “Look at this many books. Mommy is going to love this place. Everything looks so good, I want to read every book on the shelves.” David chuckled, completely distracted by his search. He needed to find it. It was the only way he could get things done. The only way he could finally claim what belonged to him. Eli was so excited, he was talking about one of the books he read; Atomic Habit. I knew this was the time to get them to see me and make them wonder who I am. “First I want to commend everyone who has given their opinion. I enjoyed every bit and can say my perspective has been further enlightened.” I paused just for effect and then continued immediately. “For me, power isn’t always loud. Sometimes, it’s the quiet things like the way you hold yourself when no one believes in you. The way you rebuild when life knocks you down and expects you to stay there. Real power isn’t about controlling others, it’s about mastering yourself...” I went on and on, while the room went still.
