Book Review Under The Dome Novels & Stories

I held the fang, my finger tracing the runes carved into it. It was heavy as it carried a lot of history, promises… And now, a deceptive eternity. "Your Highness." A charming voice greeted Daniel respectfully, and we turned to find an Omega standing under the shade of the doorway, holding a map. "Here are the charts of the Rogue movements near the northern border. The generals are already waiting in the antechamber." If I recalled correctly, the Omega's name was Anna—Lulu had told me about her. Daniel frowned ever so slightly, but that reaction was gone in a flash.

I would like to thank all of you who stuck with me through this series of books, and even those of you who have only read this book (or just two of the three). It has taken me a year to work through all three books, but I was determined to do my best to end the series on a sweet note. The laptop closed, papers in their stacks, pen holder exactly three inches from the edge. “What are you doing in here?” Dominic’s voice came from the doorway. I spun around, clutching a random book from his shelf. “I was looking for something to read. I was bored.” The office door remained open as he stood there, sweat-dampened from his run. His gray eyes scanned the room—an Alpha checking for intrusions in his private space. “Find what you were looking for?” he asked curtly, noting the book in my hands. “Military strategy,” I said, glancing at the cover for the first time. “I thought it might be…interesting.”

Up in Leesa’s room, Dral took up his familiar position lounging against the wall beside the door while Rave sat down on the bed “What now?” Rave asked as Leesa pulled off her parka and hung it in her closet. Leesa grabbed her backpack and pulled out Dominic’s book. “Now this,” she said. She sat down next to Rave and opened the book on her lap. Once again, she was surprised by how little the oversized book weighed.

I turn and go. The flight is long and I sleep better than I did coming over, the deep sleep of someone who has used themselves well for four days. I wake somewhere over the ocean and Dominic is reading, or not reading, the book is open but he's looking at the middle distance with the focused stillness he gets when he's thinking through something. "Work?" I say. He looks down at me. "No." "What then?" "The house for summer. I found three options." "You're thinking about summer rentals at thirty thousand feet."

Her steps slowed, and her posture stiffened, as though she were bracing herself for something dangerous. The guards led us forward in perfect silence, their armor gleaming and their expressions unreadable. That alone should have warned me. At first, I allowed myself to take in the illusion. The Dome's interior was vast, impossibly so, stretching far beyond what its exterior suggested. The ceiling arched high above us, painted with constellations that shifted and rearranged themselves as we walked, while the floor beneath our boots felt warm and almost alive, subtly responding to every step we took.

I rubbed it, feeling the sting I had felt when Leah brought me to Neverwhere. The flames disappeared when I opened my eyes only to see a green small dome the size of the book that seemed to protect it. I glanced at the two who were a few inches away from where they stood minutes ago. “Do you see this?”, I asked, pointing at the green dome-shaped around the book. They look at each other then back at me confused. “The book, you mean?”, Lyv replied. I shook my head. Pointing at it, “No, this green dome-shaped around the book.”

“Remember, the magic expires at midnight, then it’s back to rags and pumpkins.” Dante glared. “Scram.” “Zero humour. As always,” Caleb muttered as he strolled off. Dante walked forward, carrying Jo straight into what looked like empty air. The dome shimmered for a brief second, then vanished again. When he set her down, Jo looked around, confused. “What is this?” “A dome,” Dante said. Inside the invisible dome, there was no wind. No echo. Even the usual faint hum of nature dulled inside the barrier.

Hearing him, Valencia snatched the book while staring daggers at her omega and went back to the bed, depositing the book with a loud thud that made Freyge wince. The omega breathed a sigh of relief to see that Valencia had agreed to read and wiped the sweat off his forehead. Meanwhile, Dominic dragged him to the corner. An hour passed as the two men were huddled over the coffee table, deep in discussion, while Valencia skimmed through the pages of the book. Dominic had expected her to tear his home down to pieces but he was surprised to see her peering at the pages intently. ‘Does she find it interesting?’ He asked himself.
