Devourer of Souls

Devourer of Souls

The cover filled me with a creeping, ice-cold dread. There he was, on the cover. Smiling and looking directly at me, it seemed. The man in yellow. Above that, the title burned itself into my brain: The King Wears Yellow. “And so can you,” I rasped. I placed a weak hand on my forehead and held it there. Was I feverish? Sick, hallucinating? I hadn’t bought that book . . . had I? I’d only glanced through it. Left it at The General Store, because it was just a crock of stupid shit. Hadn’t I only flipped through Bobby’s copy on the way home?

FELICITY.

FELICITY.

And the fact that a book her mother had left her was sending her these Weird messages was even more strange. She decided not to follow the orders she had been given and went to the bathroom. As she left, the book vibrated and turned into a murky red color, the golden lining turned black and it emitted a very disturbing aura. As she took a shower, the book became more and more agitated. Like it was waiting for something.

Persuasion

Persuasion

Sir Walter Elliot, of Kellynch Hall, in Somersetshire, was a man who, for his own amusement, never took up any book but the Baronetage; there he found occupation for an idle hour, and consolation in a distressed one; there his faculties were roused into admiration and respect, by contemplating the limited remnant of the earliest patents; there any unwelcome sensations, arising from domestic affairs changed naturally into pity and contempt as he turned over the almost endless creations of the last century; and there, if every other leaf were powerless, he could read his own history with an interest which never failed. This was the page at which the favourite volume always opened:

Nollax: The Vampwolf Chronicles

No harm done. Olivia opened the book, but she didn’t understand it. Her hands shook while the book glowed with a ghoulish amethyst light. She dropped it and moved away when smoke spiraled from it. At the same time, Olivia heard an eerie cackle and saw the vision of a tall elegant woman dressed in a black gown. The little girl stared open-mouthed at the lady with crimson, lilac hair and yellow horns protruding from her head. Olivia’s body trembled.

The Substitute Villainess

The Substitute Villainess

Soon she found herself standing inside of what looked like a ball room but messily decorated , there were rows and rows of library bookshelves with hundreds of books stuffed inside unceremoniously . A total of seven poufs and armchair were placed here and there , she was still taking in the peculiarity of the place when - " Hello , good day to you " a voice right behind her back called her suddenly , making her jump in fear , flustered she turned around and came face to face with one of the weirdest man she have ever seen . His hair was white just like an old man , and it was so untamed it surrounded him like a lion's mane . That wasn't all his eyes were bright yellow , just like those of a

Rude Awakenings

Rude Awakenings

“It’s just through here.” Swinging open the door, Kate stepped aside, allowing Georgia to slowly shuffle into the spare bedroom. Red, swollen eyes drifted around the room, taking in the fluffy, black comforter thrown atop the twin bed, the antique lamp inherited from Kate’s grandmother centered on the mahogany nightstand and the small, hexagonal mirrors positioned above the gray headboard. Chewing her lower lip, Georgia stepped toward the neatly-organized bookshelf nestled in the corner, a pink acrylic nail brushing along the spine of one of the books. “The Haunting of Hill House,” she mumbled, nodding her head in approval. “Like the show?”

This was so good. The main characters were properly fleshed out and I ended up loving Paloma. Colton essentially being a redeemable bum in need of therapy and stability was super realistic. Everyone having regular jobs was a breath of fresh air. The sex has you wishing you could be Kate. Solid read

Definitely one of my favorites, love the journey to love for Colton and Kate. They feel so real and it’s a roller coaster of emotions, with a psycho stalker for more thrills. Not sure why it’s broken into 2 books but reading back to back still flows. Thank you, author!!

His Deadly Obsession

His Deadly Obsession

Her wanderings led her to a momentary pause, her gaze fixated on a room visible through the translucent Thai glass. Intrigued by the mysterious room, Hazel gingerly turned the knob and stepped into what appeared to be a sanctuary of knowledge, lined with towering bookshelves. The air inside was laced with the scent of aged paper. What is it? Is he really fond of books? Her fingers traced the spines of the books. Unable to resist the allure, Hazel reached for a book titled "Little Women." Leaning against its edge, she resisted the urge to sit and instead propped herself up, opening the book to its first page.

I'm Not Supposed To Fall For The Lycan

It was impossible for me to read them all. I looked outside again. The sky was starting to darken. I should go back before it gets darker. As I moved to pick up my bag from the table, the corner of my eye caught something. A book on the bottom row of the shelf looked different from the thick gray-covered books. It was a pale yellow book with golden curvy writing on the side. I crouched down, took the book, and read the title. MYSTERIES OF GOLDEN VALLEY THROUGH THE AGES

The Alpha and Her Hunter

She slapped the book down in front of Willow who just stared at it. There was nothing on the cover to belie what was inside. She unwrapped the leather thong that held it closed and carefully opened it. The pages were yellowed with age and soft around the edges where it had been thumbed through many times. It surprisingly didn't smell musty but rather spicy…like her and her house. She gave her grandmother a quizzical look.

His grey hairs can be seen moving against the black ones. The cabin is dusty and forces Cody to sneeze. I take a wash cloth from my grandma's kitchen and dust the railings going up the stairs. We head toward the attic and the cardboard boxes are still stacked up in rows lined up against the wall. The wall is still covered in ripped up yellow wallpaper. The red cardboard box is still there, and as we approach it I notice the lid is still closed from the last time my grandma shut it.
