Novel & Cerita Book To Read On Vacation

By the time Momma passed I was married with a little one on the way, so my chance for college had passed, too. But I never stopped reading. Got me a nice little library out back, filled with all sorts of books crammed on bookshelves made by my own two hands. Books like Tom Sawyer, Edgar Allen Poe stories, Huck Finn and The King in Yellow, (that last one I don’t read much cause it always gives me strange dreams), some old mysteries, a clutch of Lovecraft’s books (they hurt my head, too, so I don’t read them much neither), my Hardy Boys books from growing up, and a whole bunch of newer ones by Stephen King and Dean Koontz. He’s going to go far. He said he might stop by later so I prepare some extra food and leave it in the oven in case he does stop by and he’s hungry. Once I’m done eating I head into my room with Porsha and sit in my chair, scrolling through I*******m. Porsha jumps into her matching chair and we hang out for a while. I light a couple of candles and get into my bed, plugging my phone in and grabbing my book. I’m currently reading The Great Gatsby, a classic.

They have a little boy about Jesse’s age named Ricky, and like Jesse, he’s a real brat. It looks like I’m going to be the fifth wheel on this ride. Which, I guess, makes it a good thing. At least I don’t have to entertain anyone. Since I have no choice but to do, I can use my solitary time to catch up on my reading. Grabbing my tiniest bikini, I pack it inside my bag too. Hey, if I’m going to get stuck in the middle of nowhere, I’m going to tan. “Fine, but don’t complain when I want to take a vacation with my friends next year.”

I'd read four good books already and just couldn't get enough. I stood and stretched. Captive or not, I was beginning to feel very comfortable in that house. Maybe this was the vacation I needed. A little break and time away from work and other duties. I now had time to think about myself and enjoy my romantic novels. The only thing I wished I could do was go out to a fancy restaurant or to the beach or something.

(Nerina’s P.O.V) The last week on the island has been pure bliss, spending time with my friends and John and the guys. We never did have the scavenger hunt the girls had talked about, considering we went back in time on the day it was supposed to happen. I wonder what ever happened to the person who was supposed to set it all up, hmm…oh well. We’ve spent the last week just enjoying the sun and the sand during the day and the local night life at, well, night. Coming back to the villa and having John fuck my brains out daily was also a nice bonus on this trip. I sigh as I put the last of my belongings in my suitcase. We fly out tomorrow morning to Miami before we all go our separate ways. It h

No need to run the battery down, I reason with myself, although I still feel twitchy about having no means of communication with the outside world. But as I close my eyes, the sudden image of the van lurching my direction is all it takes to make leaving my electronics behind a non-issue. I don’t think I have ever gone completely without them, though, I realize. I’ve never fully ‘unplugged’, ever. This ought to be interesting. In a flash of inspiration, I walk to my home office and grab four of the paperback books Mari loaned me – two romances by Erin Wright and two thriller stories by Paul Austin Ardoin. Pete glances up and smiles briefly before he returns his focus to my home computer.

To protect Daisy and me. Leaning my back against the seat, I think of what to do to keep myself busy on the plane. Daisy always sleeps whenever we are traveling. Then it hits me. My book. I got a novel from a bookstore Ashley recommended sometime ago, with the intention of reading it while on the plane, heading back home. Glad for the intervention of Leo, I open the car door and step out. If he hadn't come, we would have been halfway to the airport before I realized it.

No one has found the bodies yet, though, so theres still a lingering hope out there that they're alive. I sigh as I crawl under the thick quilt, flicking on the lamo beside me as I pull out my latest find at Barnes and Nobels: The Winter Garden by the famous Kristin Hannah. This woman's books are truly amazing. Then, after an hour long reading session, I find my eyes beginning to shut against my will, so I set down the book on the bedside table and shut off the lamp. ~ The next morning...

Permit me to say this but I don't think I will regret staying here…. The book clearly covered my face as I tried to find my way through an empty desk. Florida could only laugh at my silly attitude. She just won't understand so I laughed along with her. Dropping down the books, I heaved in relief. "Fifty Shades Of Grey," I read out, caressing the book cover. I'm definitely reading all these. "Shannara Chronicles," “Game of thrones,” "Beautiful Disaster," "wow…..this is really amazing," I exclaimed, reading the title of each book I grabbed.

Maybe we had moved from that stage of hatred. I just couldn't wait to be lost in the city, and I could read as many books I wanted on the sandy beach, it was the perfect vacation for a book lover. I could just imagine reading on the deck that overlooked the ocean, or settling down in a small cafe near the heart of the city.
