Book Twelve Novels & Stories

Chance mumbled out loud. The message clearly instructed room 12C, that is the C apartment on the 12th floor. As much Chance was dreading the idea of sex, he was sort of excited for the view from up there. He went inside, staring at the lavish interior of the place as he proceeded. On the twelfth floor, he finally made it to the dorr 12C and considered thrice before eventually knocking on the door. After a while, a man showed up at the door, brushing his hair off with the towel. “I see you finally made it,” Terrence invited Chance in.

As she made her way to the living room, she called back, “Let’s get to work” Tara followed obediently. She hadn’t noticed the large cloth sack Maggie carried until the old woman reached inside and pulled out a thick, leather bound book. Tara stretched forward to take a closer look. The book showed years of wear. The binding was worn thin and the pages were yellowed. At the end of a long black ribbon that was glued within the binding of the book was an octagon shaped crystal that measured one and one-half inches in length and one inch in diameter.

The letter came on a Tuesday morning. Lihua never liked Tuesdays because she felt it was the day when the universe liked to shake things up, right when you finally had your week steady. It wore the Tiancang Sect’s vermillion crane—wings wide, painted with that almost arrogant elegance that only people wielding real power ever bother with. And it had both their names there on the front. No pretending this was just for him.

“The Hall has recognized the Twelve Guardians.” ⸻ A deep chime echoed through the chamber. One by one, the twelve locks clicked open. No one had touched them. The case slowly opened by itself. Inside rested twelve leather-bound journals. Each bore a different emblem burned into the cover. A raven. A lion. A sparrow. A crown. And eight more symbols Amelia had never seen before. Lying across the journals was a single folded letter sealed with dark blue wax. The seal had already cracked with age.

he muttered. "Maybe they don't have messages there?" Lethabo asked he took the remains of the letter from Jordon hand, inspecting the last page. "This an extensive list. We use a lot of these things ourselves but the wand is new and I've never heard of these books or the Authors," he said, looking up and seeing the confused looks on Sebestian and Dell faces. He read the rest of the letter out LUNA LAND SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY

Penelope…it read. There is a book within Ironclad's library, black cover, crest in silver. It holds what you must know about who you are, about the blood that sets you apart as the twelfth wolf. Find it. When you do, I will explain everything. Until then, trust no one. Not even those who claim to love you. -Father

The poor man said. "Then find it." Alpha Clark started looking rather homicidal. The librarian got to work as he needed no further push from what I could tell as he spread open the book and soon, he went close to the Alpha and handed him the book. "There. Passage twelve counts one hundred and twelve." He said to Alpha Clark. The Alpha was momentarily engrossed by what he was reading and then looked up at Professor Derrick. "You were right." He said to Professor Derrick. "I knew that already. Well?" He asked Alpha Clark.

🌹 A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR 🌹 This is Book Two in the ‘Entangled’ series, and it continues the story after the events of Book One titled—Bound to the Mafia Lord. While you can read this book on its own, I strongly recommend reading Book One first for a clearer understanding of the characters, relationships, history, and events that have already taken place. There are several names and references throughout this book that were introduced in the previous story. But if you’ve decided to start here… welcome anyway. 🤭❤️

I sigh, finally finding the strength walk up the stairs. I get into my room and lock the door. Soon as I do, I lean back against on the wood. Somehow, I’ve just managed to betray the only person who has ever truly looked out for me, all because of a man who is currently plotting to make my life miserable. I pull Noel’s jersey out of my bag and stare at the number twenty-three. It still smells like him. What a mistake. I think of burning it before it gets me in trouble. Or maybe throwing it out. Instead, foolish me hugs it to my chest and sinks onto the floor.

Enzo is just happy to have all his ‘brothers’ The night air was sharp with sea salt and memory, Enzo stood at the edge of the pier, hands in his coat pockets, watching the shadows dance across the warehouse district. The same docks where shipments once moved in silence under the veil of moonlight. Where loyalty was currency and betrayal cost blood. He hadn’t set foot here in years—not since he chose a different path. A better one.
