Beatrice Beecham's Ship of Shadows

Beatrice Beecham's Ship of Shadows

CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR In the following days, the town of Dorsal Finn did what it did best, it healed. Part of this process involved embracing the nuances that came with living in the town, whilst on another level it meant denying a fair few things too. Some things were hard to deny, the tragedy of the many lives lost on the night The Spirit of the Ocean was claimed by the sea. The reasons for its loss were compiled by Trevor, the only surviving crew member, and supported by his adamant witnesses, that for reasons unknown, a great explosion occurred in the lower decks, sinking the vessel within minutes.

The Princess and the Sailor

The Princess and the Sailor

Working as a bricklayer I don't know how many times I risked injuring myself by falling from a scaffold, while I was dancing like a tightrope walker - at twenty - thirty meters high. So when a new opportunity was presented to me, it was like a pleasant breeze to me that blows across your face when you are sweaty and tired. From an early age I was fascinated by the poems, stories and tales of the people who spent their time at sea, such as "The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway, "The Little Mermaid" by Hans Christian Andersen, the novels by Charles Dickens for not to mention Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

The King's faceless wife.

The King's faceless wife.

Flipping the pages of the large book, I looked through each detail I could find. All though the first book Prince Victor had shown me was larger with more pages, the one he just showed me now seemed to have a few raw facts about the land beyond the five Kingdoms. One of the very first facts I found was the scariest thing I could ever find. It seems many have tried to travel beyond the five Kingdoms but too little have survived. And the survivors said that the waves of the sea had been the biggest monster of them all.

Wonderful story with very engaging characters. Overall this needs good editing, spell checks, etc. but the story and character developments flowed well that my internal translator was automatically engaged.

Leesa's Advent

Leesa's Advent

“Scatter! Miracles, with me! This way.” The Marines begin racing away in all directions. Dad leads our group back toward the jetty where we landed. Jordy and Kai run with us, while the rest of the soldiers scatter. Maybe Dad means for us to jump into the water and try to survive that way. From everything I’ve read about Alcatraz and the frigid currents surrounding the island, that doesn’t seem very likely. Perhaps the mermaids will be able to rescue a few of us, at least. For those they can’t save, maybe drowning will be a better death than being burned alive.

She Wows the World Post-divorce

Since he'd been lost at sea for a few days without medical equipment, some of his wounds were already infected and were oozing with pus. His ribs were broken, and he was bleeding internally. Despite all that, he was alive. He was the only survivor so far. It would be easy to give up on living after drifting at sea for days, succumbing to fear, hunger, and exhaustion. However, the thought of Holly reignited his desire and will to live. It was just like 13 years ago when he was burned in the fire. His lungs were already filled with smoke. At death's door, he thought of Holly and fought to live.

My Reborn Apocalypse Begins with a Divorce

My Reborn Apocalypse Begins with a Divorce

And perhaps ten percent remained unchanged—if the same survival ratio applied. In other words, the ocean itself was now unimaginably dangerous. And yet, this foreign woman had the courage to go into the sea for food—and even managed to find some. Ray only glanced at her briefly, then lost interest and shifted his focus away. Finding Kirk was his top priority. Crash! The sea suddenly churned violently. From the shattered ice, a colossal creature burst upward. Its size was so immense that it instantly expanded the hole the woman had created by more than ten times.

A Way To Survive

A Way To Survive

"He only hit people when he lost his temper and couldn't find a solution. He didn't want both my sister in danger and me. Because for him, I am his biological son. Therefore, I cannot let my sister suffer injustice." Finn is worried. "You want to go there? Do you know that's going to die?" Uri opens his backpack, takes the ancient golden book, takes off the book's last page, and gives it to Finn. "Please keep this map; it is a living hope for many people. I live or die doesn't matter. The important thing is that you save everyone so that they don't live in the mountain cave anymore." "You… you decided to go there?" Finn reached out his trembling hands and took the map from Uri's hand.

Survival Has a Memory

Survival Has a Memory

"Hey, you don't like Ms. Hedge leading us! Stay out!" "Yeah, and you call yourself a survival expert? If anything, you're a clown." "Ms. Hedge took part in the wilderness survival section. I think she got Seraphina all the stuff on the show." Queenie approached us and put on a tender smile. "She doesn't have my powers, but we're all colleagues. And we're all stranded. We must work together. I've heard the sea goddess' summons. She says there'll be a downpour tomorrow, and we need to stock up on food fast.

Vampire of the New World

Vampire of the New World

He was horrified and could not utter a word as he thought to himself: Sharks don't just attack boats. "Death comes fast in the water. You should take care and stay in your cabin for the duration of the journey. We will be reaching Orsica soon," said the captain coldly just as two crewmen brought a stretcher and carried the body back to the cabin away from Jon's view. ======= Author's Note For a visual guide to the artworks to be mentioned in the succeeding chapters, you may visit https://totosnotebook.blogspot.com/2021/02/artworks-in-vampire-of-new-world-visual.html

Captain Cook
Excellent book! Plenty of suspense with vivid descriptions of locations and characters! I've reached Chapter 169 and didn't see any issues. I hope the author updates soon with new chapters! Great work!
Bella Moondragon
This is an extremely well-written book. Of all the books I’ve read on the platform, this author’s command of the English language is the best. The story is great and reminds me a lot of Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Eden Rebuilt: My Island Adventure with Divine

For a short time, the two of them still had some water and food to hold out for a while, but they really didn't have much wilderness survival experience, and the situation could only get worse. What about the lack of salt? What if there's no protein? What if he doesn't have vitamin ABCD? What if he has appendicitis? What if there is no paper in the toilet? They can't just pucker up and run to the ocean every time. When people get worried, they think of all the bad things, big and small. And then there's this beach. What kind of sea is this? The beach is clean as a whistle, dogshit! All empty shells!
