I had wanted to get some insight about the land beyond the Five Kingdoms, but the book was filled with nothing more than the scary tales sailors would tell the villagers when they pass through the kingdom. I had hoped a book about beyond the five Kingdoms would settle my mind and assure me that my father and mother would be safe on their journey. But the book is filled with shadowy creatures and monsters that feed on humans and animals alike.
