The Billion Dollar Bet

The Billion Dollar Bet

The kind meant for older kids but that August had started gravitating toward because picture books didn't have enough words. "This one is about a robot who wants to be an astronaut." Carter held up the first book. "And this one is about deep sea creatures. Real ones, not made up. And this one—" He pulled out a thick hardcover. "This one is about how bridges are built. It has diagrams." August's eyes went huge. He took the bridge book with both hands like Carter had given him something precious. Opened to the first page where there was indeed a detailed diagram of bridge architecture. "This is mine? To keep?"

Entwined With The Alpha

Entwined With The Alpha

I would get four new storybooks for now, and once they got exhausted, I would go for another. “Good evening, ma’am,” the older lady behind the counter said at my entrance into the bookstore, her eyes staying on me. I flashed a bright smile. “Good evening.” I moved over to the counter, where she stood behind it, and placed my hands on it. “What can I get you?” the polite lady asked. “I need at least four intriguing storybooks for a five-year-old boy.” Her brow rose in interest. “Ah, the ever-curious five-year-old boys, eh?”

This was a good good read. Finally a finished book, with good characters, that were fleshed out. Grammar better than most, I wasn’t looking for steamy, but this one is! Would like to read another from this author.
Kaziah Alidon
So far this is one of the best books I’ve read on this app, the writer is so wonderfully involved welcoming ideas and comments. Which in my opinion shows how much she appreciates her readers. The amount of descriptiveness, information and detail really helps you visualize what your reading. Thanx!!

RESCUED HEART

RESCUED HEART

I should keep calm. His children came, twice before the end of July. They were very happy to see her and vice versa. On the second occasion, Anuri gave both of them story books, beautifully illustrated. Kelechi got Pinocchio and the Beauty and the Beast. Ola got Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. How happy they were. Of course, someone would guide them in reading the very simple English in which they were written. But merely gazing at the illustrations made them happy. 'Oh, K.C., see Rose dancing with the prince,' said Ola lightly. 'Pooh, see the ugly witch.' She frowned.

Billionaire Contract Marriage: Her Quest

Billionaire Contract Marriage: Her Quest

Catherine arrived at the front door with her overnight bag — she'd stayed Thursday, she'd been informed, because birthdays deserved more than a single day — and her rabbit and the expression of someone who had been thinking about this day for some time and had specific expectations. She stood on the step. Looked at me. "I'm five now," she said. "You are." "Five is different from four." "How so?" She considered this seriously. The question hadn't been rhetorical. She'd clearly been working on the answer. "Four was finding things out," she said. "Five is knowing some things." I looked at my five-year-old granddaughter. "What do you know?" I asked. She held up fingers. "The roses sleep in winte

Passion in Broken Love

Passion in Broken Love

“I help around as much as I can. Grandma gives me a lot of books too.” Sometimes I marvelled at the number of books this five-year-old could read in a month. Most of the money spent on her were on books. I was afraid she’d even start wanting to read books that were out of her age range. All the credit went to Patricia, as she was a bookworm herself. After some time, I just remained quiet and watched them interact. “…and are you eating your vegetables?” She looked away and a guilty smile crept up her face. “Some of them…but you know I don’t like carrots mommy.”

My Boyfriend’s Wedding

My Boyfriend’s Wedding

So it wouldn't take long for the police to locate us and try to finish that mission as soon as possible. The little boy opened a small shabby and old book, in which the green cover was already totally covered with dust and some leaves exhibited a yellowish tone. I had the impression that I was seeing my old books from the time I went to church, where Bible stories mixed to explain the existence of God. I became even more believed that that situation was the same, because he opened the story on a page where a snake stuck in an apple tree tree appeared.

When The Alpha Wanted What Wasn’t His

When The Alpha Wanted What Wasn’t His

She doesn’t have to worry about a thing. So here we are, or rather, here she is. Watching the pups, teaching them what she can. There are some, like the one she just visited, who are so young they can’t yet spell their names. There are others old enough to read what look like fairly challenging books—she borrowed a handful from the library to distribute among the slightly older kids. I caught a few of the titles and have the feeling she’s choosing books featuring characters who lost their parents, purposely trying to draw the most solemn of the group out of their shells. I’m sure she doesn’t expect overnight success, but after a few days of this, she’s managed to build a warm, easy rapport w

The Alpha's Babysitter

The Alpha's Babysitter

In a cozy room filled with colorful toys and books, Theo, a curious and energetic 3-year-old, sat on the floor surrounded by his favorite stuffed animals. His nanny, Hazel, a kind and patient young woman, sat beside him with a book in her hands, ready to embark on a magical storytelling journey. Hazel: "Are you ready for a story, Theo?" Theo: "Yes, Hazel! Story, story!" Hazel smiled warmly and began to read from the book, her voice gentle and soothing as she brought the words to life.

The Jock & The Wallflower

The Jock & The Wallflower

We eventually fell asleep side by side, looking up through the small window at the stars, planning all the adventures we'd have that summer. ~0~ Summer before Fifth Grade "You read too much," I said, flopping down on Avy's bed where she was curled up with yet another book. "You don't read enough," she shot back without looking up. "Reading is boring." "Reading is fun. This book is about a girl who can talk to animals." "That's dumb,” I snorted. “Animals can't talk." "It's called imagination, Bryce. Maybe you should try it sometime." I grabbed the book out of her hands and held it above my head, just out of her reach. "Maybe you should try going outside sometime."

Reincarnation: Husbands Kept Flocking to her Side

Reincarnation: Husbands Kept Flocking to her Side

~15 years ago~ A little guy at the age of 5 was busy reading a book under an old tree but still stood tall and look Almighty. His low grade cheap glasses make a silent noise whenever he turned his head to look at the next page. He reads very quietly that if one make a slightest noise around him, that noise will be transferred through his ears, like the light footstep at the back of the tree he was currently reading his psychological book in and that was heading its ways to him.
