Then he looked at the shelves, at the books lined up so tightly they pressed against each other, decades of his mother's habit preserved between spines. "Her name was Elara," he said. "She read everything she could get her hands on. History, science, natural history — clearly." He nodded at the book in Giselle's lap. "Poetry. Political theory. She used to say a king who only reads strategy manuals is a king who doesn't understand the people he governs." A pause. "She was usually right about most things."

****LIBRARY**** Elena walked in and went to the shelfs, she started searching for the book she needed and after a minute of searching, she found it, she made to take it but she couldn't reach it so she stood on her toes and tried taking it but someone to took it from behind her, she turned to look at the person and she bit her lips when she saw Leonard. "The book please" she said, stretching her hand forward. "What if I don't give you?" Leonard asked with a small smile.

Isabella walked to Eleanor's side, carefully supporting her, and returned to the bed. "Recently, the work at the TV station has kept me busy. I really couldn't find the time." Isabella casually explained. Eleanor always thought she was interning at the TV station, and Isabella didn't want her to worry. Sometimes, well-intentioned lies were necessary. Eleanor sat half-leaning on the bed. Tilting her head to the side, she noticed a pile of books on the bedside table that Isabella had just brought in. She picked up one casually, only to find it was a book of fairy tales.

She wanted to learn about what she didn't know since the book at Elheim were all outdated. As she was reading she thought about Elheim 'I miss Elheim, even though there was some sad moment. Still I had a lot of good moment too with Eli, and Elheim was a peaceful and great place. Apart from how everyone aside from Eli thought that I was weird...you know Eli, even here they think that I am weird, so I must be cautious all the time...' The draw of books was too great, and despite knowing their time was limited, they continued to walk through, gazing lovingly at the bound tomes. "Amanda! It's a first edition!" Ellie had pulled a book from the shelf and was showing it to Amanda. It was a first edition Wuthering Heights manuscript. Amanda gasped as she walked up to Ellie and stared lovingly at the leather-bound pages. Ellie was practically drooling when Jake came up next to her. "Find something you like?" he asked cheerfully. "Shhhh!" Ellie hushed him. "Is there a reason we're whispering?" Jake said quietly as he looked at the book in Ellie's hands.

"What?" "Nothing you should be worried about," I said softly, walking into the library to join the others who were already in. Elle was already at the library lectern, her hands on it. "I need something related to Princess Ivy, daughter of Queen Rida Red." She shrugged and stepped back. The catalogue glowed, and a small violet and grey book descended from the sets of flying books and floated in front of me. "It worked," I said, trying to reach out for it. The moment my fingers graced it, it electrocuted me. I flinched back, falling into Ace's waiting arms. "Great, another problem."

Elva widens her eyes, jogging towards me. “No freaking way, you have the books I like?” She says in disbelief. I don’t want to tell her that ever since my stalking of her in her socials, I have found out her favourite book, well all her socials consists of all the books she likes and read. I pick the two books I brought when coming to the academy, handing it over to Elva; she stares at the book cover in awe, clearly fascinated. I have read half of the book just to get immersed in what Elva likes.

“Check out the local library. Ask for Yellen’s book. Tom” Leila sighed and ran a hand through her hair. Eduard Yellen. The man whose nutty research had kicked off this whole mess. A dead man with too many secrets and not enough time to spill them. Now she was supposed to dig through dusty old books to figure out how deep this rabbit hole went. She headed for the fridge, hoping for something stronger than a clue, but all she found was a single can of gourmet dog food and a designer bottle of mineral water. Wolfie’s breakfast, it seemed, was more luxurious than hers.

Killian said. “He also stood in front of Elena’s bookshelf for four minutes,” I said. “She has two shelves of pre-alliance political history that most people walk past without registering, and he stopped in front of them and read the spines and then asked Elena about one of the titles, and the two of them talked about it for long enough that I had to come back for them.” I paused. “He is a person who respects books the way some people respect territory. They tell him something about the person who chose them that a conversation might not.”
