The Man of Shade Manor
I admit.
“To live is such a…a large mansion all on y-your own must be lonely,” she speaks softly, peeking up at me.
I chuckle, once again looking into her vibrant eyes.
“I have lived like this a long time, and I wouldn’t say it is all that bad,” I reply.
I spent the next while showing Clara around Shade Manor. She follows me at a steady pace, her thin hand still gripping mine.
After giving her a tour of the place, I take her to the west wing, where the rest of the humans are. The hallway is bustling with shades, as they bring water and bandages to those who need them. The space is filled with the bitter smell of medicine.
