Books Like The Glass Castle Novels & Stories

I can read, thanks to my adopted parents who saw it fit for me to go to school, but I wouldn't want to read anything even if I could. But the book I saw sitting on a particular portion of the library caught my attention when I turned to leave. My eyes roamed around, and seeing no one was paying attention, I paced towards the glass that housed what seemed to be a special kind of book. From what I can see, it's a pretty normal blue-covered book but why its inside a glass remains a question.

Kendra looked into the room and saw nobody, but she was attracted by a vast and luxurious wall of books. “Wow! So many books!” Kendra felt excited. The books in this room were even more than the library of her school. It must be the book room inside this castle. Kendra pushed the door and walked in slowly. “Oh my god!” She stood in front of the book wall and sighed again. Kendra glanced at the books and found they were all limited editions. Ordinary people couldn’t afford them at all. Why did this castle have so many cherished books? Kendra climbed the wooden ladder curiously and found an interesting book. She opened it and started reading.

The old castle stood high on the rocky hill where the forest met the mountains. Its stone walls were cracked and covered with thick vines. No one had lived there for hundreds of years. People in the nearby village whispered that the place held something dangerous. Something that burned hotter than any flame. Elias had heard all the stories but he still came anyway. At twenty six years old he felt stuck in his small quiet life. He worked in the village bakery during the day and spent his nights reading old books about forgotten magic. One book spoke of a fire demon who once ruled these lands. The words pulled at him until he could not stay away.

The magic slammed against her teeth like it wanted out through her mouth as much as through the cracked windows. Hols. Her vision blurred. A pulse rolled through the penthouse. The remaining windows rattled. Somewhere, another pane cracked. The chandelier dropped half an inch and stuttered to a stop, as if held by an invisible hand. Then, slowly, the wave receded. Not back into her. Away. Like something tugged. Like the thing in the glass had been disappointed but not denied. Althea sagged. Her hands hit the floor. Glass dug in.

“It’s my mother’s favorite place in the castle. She believed knowledge was the greatest treasure.” I loved books too. Already, I was looking forward to spending some time here. “It’s beautiful,” I whispered, running my fingers along the shelf. “What’s your mother’s favorite book?” “Anna and the Invisible Castle,” he replied. “It’s about two princes(brothers) who fell in love with a human girl; except most of the time, it was their evil witch aunt who was personating as the girl. I think at a point one of the brothers kissed his aunt and almost married her.”

The doors were labelled with planets of the solar system except Earth; they were not labelled for figurative purpose because each door actually leads to the planets mentioned; those doors were known as “Dimensional Gates” Eric opened a brown door in front of him which had no tag, the door led to a large library, he climbed up three steps and was standing in the large room full of book shelves; one could spend a life time dedicated to reading and still not finish the books in this library. I said, motioning at the cup of coffee on the desk. The butler nodded and left me be. I lied, though. I was intent on waiting for Hade to apologize, so after Winston left, I wandered through the small bookcase and browsed for something I could read to pass the time. I snuggled comfortably on the couch with a pillow and a small blanket, and then I proceeded to read.

He asked, I look at him and there I saw a dog wagging his tail. "No," I responded that made him gloomy. "I promise I won't meddle with you." He said. I just ignored him and continued what I am doing. I've been reading this book titled 'Lily of the Valley meets Wolf Boy'. It's a famous book written by the most famous author nowadays, which is Phoenix. The story is about a sick but energetic girl that met a weird boy who was raised by wolves. They met in a city where the boy got lost. That boy is kind of anxious about how people treat him because of his different from usual behavior. The girl helped her and they became friends.
