"Don't move." I didn't. The wolves came closer. I could see their shadows at the cave entrance—large, menacing, hungry. One of them stuck its head inside and sniffed. Its yellow eyes swept the darkness, missing us by inches. Then, impossibly, it turned away. "They're leaving," I whispered, hardly daring to believe it. But the stranger's grip tightened. "Wait." A moment later, a new sound reached us. Footsteps—human footsteps—crunching through the underbrush. A voice followed, cold and familiar:

Liam’s POV** The next morning, the storm that had raged inside the house the previous day was replaced by the warm scent of fresh chai and the faint hum of the valley waking up. Sunlight seeped through the windows, casting delicate, shifting shadows on the wooden floor. Outside, the sweet humming of birds mingled with the rustle of pine trees, creating a melody so gentle it felt like the mountains themselves were singing. For the first time since yesterday, it didn’t feel like the world was about to drift apart.

His brows creased. “What?” “Listen, Aaron, you don't like me, I get it, stop confusing me. One minute you're nice, the next minute you're shouting at me. Sometimes you make me feel like we are buddies and other times, you remind me that we are nothing but strangers to each other”

He was in the middle of cooking when he heard a thud. His eyes went to Terah's bedroom. Three strangers wearing black hoods were at the door. Zachary turned off the stove and left the kitchen. Then he charged at the intruders.

His priorities were different. Hayle, initially overwhelmed by fear and anxiety, tried her best to hold herself together. A red and white cooler rested a few feet away from the bonfire. They sipped from flasks, opened packages of granola and protein bars.

That was another journey. I walked slowly dragging my bruised foot along as I made my way toward the backyard. I arrived at the corner and I could see a figure splitting the wood. It was a man who was in nothing else but shorts. I watched him flex his muscles as he split the wood with one strike. I couldn’t help but stare at him. Then, the man relaxed and dropped the ax. He turned around and I saw those silver eyes. They were familiar. It was him. The big black wolf. As our eyes met, he raised an eyebrow at me in confusion. I, on the other hand, took in his features. He had short black hair and a sharp jawline. His body was ripped and his olive skin was lubricated by his sweat which made it

We ran through the forest, my heart pounding in his chest as I wondered where we were going. Finally, we came to a small cabin hidden deep in the woods. The stranger led me inside and lit a fire in the fireplace. "Now, Dorian," the stranger said, turning to face him. "Let's talk." I took a deep breath. I still didn't know who this man was or what he wanted, but I felt like he had no choice but to trust him. "Fine," I said, steeling myself. "Who are you, and why are you helping me?"
