Books Like The Westing Game Novels & Stories

The heartbloom stirs low and restless beneath my skin, calling me closer to the Game. I’m in the west library, the one Kael hates because the shelves still rearrange themselves when no one is looking. Nyxara’s magic didn’t fade here, but for some reason I have found it comforting. I’m seated at a long table, hands wrapped around a cup of tea that’s gone cold, pretending the words on the page in front of me mean anything at all. They don’t. Nothing does, not when the castle feels like it’s leaning toward a memory it can’t quite reach.

I got up from the bed and walked around the room, still no pain, how weird. I noticed the bookshelf and decided to take a look. There were so many books, some with older worn covers and others a bit more newer looking. I picked up a small red book and read the cover ‘A Lycanthropy Reader; WEREWOLVES IN WESTERN CULTURE’. I flicked through the pages and put it back on the shelf, a little too intense for some early morning reading. I picked up another one and read the cover, ‘The Garden of Eden’ by Ernest Hemingway. Not what I expected from a teenage werewolf soon-to-be-Alpha. I put it back and my eyes fell on a really older looking book. I pulled it out and it was big and very heavy. It looked

Someone very curious was watching me right now! Hello you, hello! I hope you can see well? I turned away from the camera and took a few steps to the side. - Open the safe! I ordered. The fat wolf narrowed his small eyes, filled with fierce hatred, and twisted his plump lips. Chechik poked him hard in the back of the head with a machine gun and the wolf did as I ordered with a groan. There were two pistols in the safe, some more money and a very important thing for any business - an account book, which included not only numbers, but also a bunch of necessary information.

“Finally out from hiding.” “I haven’t been hiding. I’ve been studying.” My face went hot. “Right. Studying. That why you look like you haven’t slept in three days?” He bent down and picked up my shampoo holding it out. “I’m fine.” I snatched the bottle from him. “You’re a terrible liar.” Weston is the brother that reads everyone with just a single look. He is the quietest amongst the three but I had a feeling he might be more dangerous than the others. I haven't been proven right though.

She handed the bag of books. "What is this?" "Free books." "Huh?" "Uhmm, it has been like a month since you've came to the store so I've been wondering." She was avoiding Alkhun's Gazes. He opened the bag and it is full of fiction books. "Thanks." "Don't worry those are my books, collections of interesting myths in the West." "West..?" He remembered his mother on those 4 letters. He sighs and reaches for his bag to drink water.

Shane’s voice was steady, though his hands clenched tightly. “She looked out the window when the voice said not to. They don’t like it when you disobey.” “The what?” Shane didn’t answer her question right away. His eyes lingered on the girl with the rose blooming from her mouth, then slowly turned back to Farrah. “The ones who run this… whatever it is… they call it a game,” he said quietly. “But it’s not a game anyone wants to play.” Farrah’s hands clenched into a fist… “She’s dead, isn’t she?”

At one point, Montez leaned subtly toward her, his lips brushing her ear as he whispered, “Why does he look at you like that?” Her breath caught. “You’re imagining things.” But Montez’s hand tightened over hers beneath the table, his suspicion unrelenting. Yanov raised his glass. “To partnerships,” he said. “Old and new.” Crystal clinked around the table. But when Yanov’s gaze locked with Amira’s across the rim of his glass, the message in his eyes was unmistakable. Amira’s stomach knotted as she forced herself to sip her wine. They were bound by a secret past that should never come to light. The most dangerous game had just begun.

ALEXANDRIA I watched as Wyatt began wandering around the library, returning to place books down on the table. I slightly straightened to read one of the titles. Most of the books were about werewolf history, while some focused on the topic of becoming a better leader. Wyatt finally sat back down and opened one of the books, but he paused when he felt my stare. “What?” he asked, looking up. “You actually read?” I muttered, a hint of disbelief in my voice.

The hellhound just groaned. Useless pet, she thought. Pearl followed behind her bag money. Alec’s men set the bag just inside her home, and the moment the door shut behind the men, she was already pulling out the spell book and the silvers. For a moment, she just let her fingers skim over the neatly stacked books. Completely ignoring the men and her three wolves. There was an inviting smell that accompanied the spell book, waiting for her to do her magic and cast a spell on whatever was written inside. This time, she hoped it was how to open a portal.

My wolf replied. I shook off the "what-ifs" that held me back and turned back to the towering oak shelves. My fingers traced the spines of leather-bound books, all of them layered in dust that made my nose itch. "Focus," I muttered to myself. "One monster at a time." I immediately admonished myself. I continued to look until I found the books my dad had recommended. I pulled the four heavy volumes from the shelves. The History of Shadow Entities, The Blood Rites of the Unseen, The Search for Shadows and one volume of Pack Lore and Ancient Threats. I carried them to a secluded corner of the library. The dust felt suffocating, but I wouldn't let anything stop me.
