Deceit

Deceit

Holding a firm grasp on it, I sit criss-crossed on the floor, making myself comfortable and ready to obtain forbidden knowledge. The book was quite small, yet it weighted on my hands. I knew how wrong and grave my actions were, yet I cannot walk away from the scene. I Caress my fingers over the book cover while thinking through what I am about to do. My conscious Unable to give a blind eye to my wrong desires neither am I willing turn away, we make a deal that I would only look at the first page but boy who was I kidding . This book belongs to: S/I, were the only words written on the first page. Feeling unsatisfied with the little information the first page gave, I moved on to the second.

The Book of Deceive

The Book of Deceive

Charlatans! The back room was large. He searched, until he found the book, he searched for. The book was massive, covered in a thick layer of dust. The cover was locked with a handle that was shaped like a figure with elongated arms, he forced the lock. Nothing happened, he wasn't losing hope. With one movement of his hand, he removed the layer of dust.

Last Vampire.

Last Vampire.

"Mr. Lord has penned numerous astonishing and distinctive pieces." "What makes them so remarkable?" she queried as she flipped through the pages. "Because, to be honest, all I see here are falsehoods meant to deceive the reader into thinking it's real. And where did you get the poison for the arrow?" She snickered. "Mr. Lord didn't write lies. In fact, he based his writing on various stories, connecting the dots together," he explained, trying to defend his favorite author. She spoke with a cold, hard edge to her voice as she slammed the book shut and flung it onto the bed.

THE PRICE OF THEIR NAME

THE PRICE OF THEIR NAME

"People don't go to galleries to hear about walls and locks. They go to feel sophisticated. When you tell them you’re a prisoner, you make them feel like accomplices. And people don't buy art from people who make them feel guilty." Leo let out a dry, hollow laugh. "So I should just lie? Tell them I’m living the dream?" "No," Ivan said, leaning forward. His gaze was intense, but his voice was soft. "A flat lie is easy to spot. People can see it in your eyes. What you need is the art of the half-truth. You need to give them a version of the truth that satisfies their curiosity without giving away our secrets." Leo gripped the edge of his stool. "I don't know how to do that. I'm not like you."

The Golden Dragon's Princess

The Golden Dragon's Princess

I wondered. “Nuances,” he smiled with genuine enjoyment, his face lighting with the expression. “Fae cannot lie, but if their language tells you that they’re not telling the truth, is it really a lie? The language of deceit was initially developed as a literary device. It was their way of saying, this is an imagined story, and not a true event. When the cataclysm of mankind began, they evolved that language into one they use with man.” “And the Deceit of Elovyn is written in the language of deceit?” I puzzled it out. “So, it could be implying that Elovyn is lying, or just that the poem is a creation and not a true event?”

Alison
I loved this story that I did not want it to end. I would love to see Liera and Aurien's story continue from here although we do see snippets in your other books. I read this book often to remind myself that we all can fight through life's challenges with strength and determination. Thank you
Sarah.
I really loved the book, I wish there were more like it on this app. The characters are charming and the story is beautifully written, the premise makes me want to continue reading the other books. I hope there will be lots more like this one and maybe even longer

Catfishing the billionaire

Catfishing the billionaire

"I've lied so much to him, Robin. I could write a book on it. I could title it 'A Thousand Lies'." Robin was silent for a moment, her gaze thoughtful. "Then maybe it's time to write a new book, Stassie," she said, her voice soft. "Maybe it's time to write 'A Thousand Truths'." The prospect of confessing the truth to Eden filled me with dread. How would he perceive me knowing that I had lied? I had lied to him through my words and thoughts, and even lied to myself. The most significant lies were the ones I cloaked myself in, the ones I convinced myself were true.

From Truth To Lies

From Truth To Lies

Alden asked, his voice smooth, unreadable. I forced a slow blink, as if I had just stirred, “What?” My voice was deliberately groggy, “No… I…” I exhaled, shifting slightly in my chair, feigning discomfort, “I couldn’t sleep.” Alden’s eyes flicked down, scanning me for any sign of deception. His gaze lingered on my hands gripping the wheelchair, then at my slightly parted lips, as if I had been catching my breath. His gaze lifted, locking onto mine with an intensity that made my skin prickle. Slowly, Alden stepped closer, his movements deliberate, controlled.

THE BILLIONAIRE MARRIED HIS BROTHERS' KILLER

THE BILLIONAIRE MARRIED HIS BROTHERS' KILLER

Mara — The Art of the Half-Truth The folder sat between them like a third person in the room. Mara had learned, in four years of becoming what Hayes had made of her, that the most effective lies were not the ones built entirely from fiction. Fiction had gaps — places where the architecture showed, where the light came through wrong and the person you were lying to felt the draft without knowing where it came from. The most effective lies were the ones built around a true thing, the way a house is built around a load-bearing wall. You constructed the fiction outward from something real, and the realness held everything up.

THE LYING GAME

THE LYING GAME

The floor was sparkly and the books were neatly arranged, but I could feel the dust beneath the shelf as I ran my right hand on the smooth wood. Twice in a day. Same straightforward question, the same tight-lipped response. Like Camille, had something sinister happened to the rest of the family? Was Salvatore… dead?. Why won't anyone tell me anything? What was the family hiding?! I swept through the books, not the new ones, but the old ones kept away on a special-looking shelf. Most of them were about the Axtons, history, journals, and keep stakes from their previous lives in the mafia world. I read a few pages from one of the books and my wonderment went up a notch.

Dark Love

Dark Love

“It’s something that’s not true.” “Hmn. But I have a longer version which I want you to imbibe. As punishment, you will take a notebook and pen from the dressing table. Then you will write down this definition fifty times. A lie is any false information given with the intention to deceive. Can you repeat that, Sweetheart?” “A lie is any false information given with the intention to deceive.” Inara recited grudgingly but he ignored her countenance. “Good, you’re submitting it before bedtime. That should give you some work to do before I get back.”

I lived the pair of Lemuel and I Nara, she always lands herself in trouble and to her bad luck Lemuel caught her, I like Leso much he is mature, responsible, caring, loving and he respects everybody. And Inara is really a trouble maker but very good hearted girl. love the story
Elle Hannan
Was she 20? She acted like 15, very annoyed with the FL, immature and stupid, she lied from the beginning till the end. Luckily the ML was very mature otherwise I won't finish this book. The plot was ok, interesting at the beginning then just husband and his immature wife & his crazy ex f*CK.
