- I told him. He nodded and pulled several books out from one of the stacks and set them in front of me. I opened the top book and ran my fingers over the runes in the title. It was beautifully written as if each word was drawn with love and attention to detail. Now that I looked at it, it reminded me of a combination of Norse and Old English. Nerrian pulled his chair closer and pointed to the first word, speaking it in my mind than out loud in Draygonian. With his help, I repeated the word over and over again until I perfected it.

He had been in the dungeon, forgotten and left to rot all these years but then somebody took the effort to silence him so surely his words should have an ounce of truth atleast. Hence, I was determined to find the answers to my questions. Positioning the ladder under the huge desk, I climbed up and ran my eyes through the spines. I read through the titles, the ones that I could, and scratched my chin, wondering what to pick up first. ‘Mages of the ancient’ A title of a book caught my attention, and I wondered if this could be it. Reaching for the giant tome, I slowly pulled it out and struggled a bit to hold it in my hands.

She said I didn’t have much time, I wonder what she meant by that, no pressure, but she’s putting me under a lot of pressure. Luckily it just happened to have a lot of pictures and not much texts, I frowned as I studied the texts, thus isn’t just a book you read and finish, its one that you use and practice till maybe you got it all in your head or something. It was like a witch cook book,… ‘spelllbook, Mela chimed in, “nobody asked you” I shot back and did my best to block her out so I could focus on my reading. I came across a subtitle ‘THE ART OF RUNES’ and so I began first to read, then I grabbed the book and brought it along with me to my room after a few hours, stifling a yawn.

“This is amazing! I can already picture the illustrations for our story.” As they explored the main room, they discovered remnants of the past—an old, rusted stove, a tattered armchair, and a dusty bookshelf filled with cracked spines. Jace brushed his fingers across the books, intrigued by their titles, some of which seemed to speak of adventures and mysteries. “Look at this one!” Mia exclaimed, pulling a book from the shelf. It was titled *Whispers of the Woods*. “It’s about the legends surrounding this area. We have to read it!”

Any help they gave came at an unacceptable cost. “If it will help the entire pack.” He took a few steps looking around. It was hard to stop himself from being in awe of the room. There were floor-to-ceiling shelves with books on magic and moon phases. There were even books on werewolves. Rowan froze when he ran across a book that looked just like Elly’s grimoire.

Manang Lydia said. “Does she allow that?” Manang Lydia smiled and winked at me. “If you are feeling fine, then you can.” I went upstairs and went to Dale’s library. Before picking up a book to read, I enjoyed looking, rooming around first, leaving a gentle touch to every book I passed by. My gaze at the “The Scorch Trial” book that was written by James Dashner. I already finished reading “The Maze Runner”. I decided to read it and went to the garden.

(Hirre's POV) ~In the next day~ the Tyranny Pack. "Hirre, what's now? Did you find something you needed?" Sandra, my cousin asked as she sat beside me. We were almost two hours in the massive Library but I only read a forbidden book about magic. "Yeah. This Book of Morgue matched the things that Doctor Zahard said to me." I said while continuing to read the contents. "So what did you find out?" Sandra added as she looked at me, waiting for me to reply.

“But the books… they aren’t paper.” Evangeline followed her gaze. The shelves were packed with archives. Not leather-bound tomes, but blocks of metal or bone, bound with copper wire and inscribed with runes that shimmered faintly beneath the silver dust. She took a step toward the nearest shelf, a heavy, cold block of iron, and realized the chilling truth. This silence wasn’t empty; it was full. “They aren’t books,” Evangeline breathed, the truth hitting her like a systemic shock. “They are the memories. The sealed spells. The frozen moments of the crimes they cataloged. Every single one is waiting to be opened.”

This whole place was starting to look like a maze. “I just have to get out of here soon,” he mumbled to himself. He wasn’t a fan of books, but he was going to do all he could to make sure that he found the truth. Finally, he settled on 4 big books that were laced with images of tree monsters. They were actually a thing, and it was crazy that no one had realised this till now. He pulled the books to the nearby table and dumped them on it. One had a lock, and he skipped that since he didn’t have a key. Focusing instead on the other smaller books.

Damn it, this wasn't an action movie. I growled at something very rude, fasted my M19 harder, and sprinted down the sidewalk on this side of the street. I never let our prey out of my sight for a moment. It was almost like a slalom. Again and again I had to avoid people and then I almost ran into a shelter. There was room for a handful of people in these small buildings. If you had to get to safety from a prole, you could run in there, seal the room and call the venators from inside via an emergency column.
