Hundreds and hundred of books lined the shelves and he led me to seat by the window on a window seat. He stood in front of me, hiding something behind him. "What that?" I asked, curiousity getting the better of me. He revealed it to me, his entire body trembling in excitement, "it's our memories in hard copy!" He grinned, showing me the album book he had pulled out from one of the shelves. I took the book excitedly, opening it. Almost immediately, a naked picture of fetus Shawn jumped at me. I put both hands flat on his chest—felt the heartbeat under the cotton, quicker than it should have been, because he was genuinely bothered by this shelf in a way that I found so transparently, absurdly dear that I had to press my lips together for a moment before I spoke. “The shelf is perfect,” I said. “It is exactly what I wanted.” “It holds four books, Estelle. And it’s crooked.” “I am not going to let you redo this shelf. Because you made it. I don’t want another one. I want this one.”

I shrug my shoulders. We search through totes and boxes. We pull pictures off the wall and search behind them, ripping any paper covering the backs off, just in case. There are so many good books on the bookshelves. Someone here must have been an avid reader, but I can't imagine who. Perhaps it's just for show. As I scan the book titles, one in particular catches my eye. My favorite book by my favorite author! I pull it from the shelf with the intent to take it. After all, no one here is going to miss it. However, it is stuck. Suddenly, the pool table's legs fold in, and the floor sinks down, revealing steps to a, you guessed it, hidden lair! "Well, son of a bitch," Jon breathes.

She let out a breath, shaking her head as she left the chair before pointing at me. “Let me break it down for you to understand. The bookshop you lockpicked— don't even fucking argue against that. I know for a FACT thai I locked it— and intruded on is MINE and it's on the other side of this room which I ALSO own because I own the entire BUILDING.” She huffed indignantly.

There was also some other things with funny shapes ones I didn't even want to know where they went. I held the golden balls in my hand and wondered what they were for. Some of the things in here I have seen at th club and the others where just a mystery to me, I saw things I didn't even know existed. There was other things on the shelf below but I had seen enough. There was also a bookshelf with actual books in them. I took the first book I saw and read out the title, it was a book by Shayla Black called Wicked Ties. I had never even heard of the author. My phone vibrated in my pickets, I saw that it was Bradley.
