He shifts it immediately back to his notebook, his brows furrowing even more.
He stares into the book for a moment, then takes a step back, walking to the bench and looking into it while I stand there, unsure of what to do. A part of me feels victorious because he’s been making me feel dumb for not being able to play hockey well—I guess you can never be good at everything, I tell myself as a smirk crosses my face.
“Fucking math!” he curses as he shuts the book, tossing it onto the bench. Then he looks up, causing me to straighten my face. “Let me see your hand.” When he says this, I realize I just slammed my arm into the wall.
