Booktok Maken Novels & Stories

ATTICUS POV We stretch a second before turning the next page in one of the books Logan sent us. We have been reading Alpha leadership books for hours now and we feel better about leading a group of people. Each book has covered different issues that have been plaguing our mind. Topics such as finances, diplomacy, and even counseling roles. No wonder Patrick Thurman was such a good Alpha. He had all this study material at his disposal and it seems he used it. "knock" "knock" the sound rings out seconds before my office door opens and Karina's face pops in smiling.

It was the best kind of job for me, I loved it and I got paid weekly, enough to eat, after my first paycheck, I had spent a full week starving, I tried to ask for my money beforehand but my boss who’s the meanest person ever, said no. How could such a cold hearted person be responsible for one of the best places in the world! There was no sleeping with a storm outside, I was up most of the night, I was up early and ready to go to work, I was slipping but pushed it down as I got out of her car and quickly walked over to the bookstore. I walked over to the children's books area, I was thankful no one was around as I sat down in a beanbag after grabbing a few books to read.

She felt like she was a kept woman! While being lost in her own thoughts, she didn't notice that Lisa pushed the book that was placed in the table towards her. "Speaking about this book, I've got this for you since you don't have anything to do anyways. It's a book about making pills. You should give it a try." Lisa said. Naomi looked at the book that was pushed towards her. The cover wasn't that ugly nor fancy as it looked quite ordinary. The cover had some words written on it which were "The First Steps of Becoming a Mage" which should be the book's title. The book was somehow thick.

I added quickly, “For beginners.” “Cooking? You mean a recipe book?” “Not a recipe book.” I pressed my lips, trying to explain what I had in mind. “A book that teaches the basics, like techniques, equipment. One that can teach you from scratch.” He furrowed his brows, thinking for a moment before walking over to one of the bookshelves. He climbed onto a step stool, then pulled out one of the books from the very top shelf. He dusted the cover off with his hand, then blew on it before climbing back down and handing it to me.

He added, “you have to get the book that you want from the box machine where the eggs are stored. The box machine has claws that you use to get the egg from the box.” “Hmm, sounds like a gacha-machine.” Maxill smirked at the thought. “Exactly! I made it like this because of what I learned in the slots. It’s gamification, but for books!” “Ok.” Chastine smiled; she was ready to play the box machine so that they could get the codex in no time. “What book are you looking for?” “It’s called the Herb Codex,” Juste answered Duke-X as he waited in anticipation whether it was available at Makina’s library or not.

he took a deep breath and said, "but I have come up with an offer for you and I hope you consider it." Xasha took out a leather-covered book from his storage pack. The title was, 'basic Magic compression vol. 1.' "While the magic compression technique is still in its infancy, I've made some breakthroughs in the past three years since I first developed it. I now have enough knowledge to fill this book." The king took the book in hand, he opened it and started flipping through pages, "amazing," was all he would comment under his breath from time to time. He closed the book as he looked up and Xasha.

he greeted with a bow. “Paul. What is it you wanted to show me?” “I’ve been running extensive tests on this book since you gave it to me,” he said, picking up the book. “I ran tests on the entire book and came up empty.” I frowned at him. “Then why am I here?” “Well, as I stated, I came up empty…the first time.” He flipped the book open to the pages that replaced the originals. “These pages are made from Sri Lanka Legume Trees.”

They also adjusted my cloaks alongside the dresses since I needed a set that could allow me to move freely. We did our best to finish the agreement we had with Jael. I finished up the translation and created three copies with Tora's help—we made them into books. Luckily, Dillon, my brother, and Macan were talented in crafting, making it easier to explain to them each step of how to make a book from the copies Tora and I wrote by hand.

Mia exclaimed. “Seriously, are you making fun of me?” I said with scorn. “I am dead serious! This is perfect. It is so captivating and I wished I could read the chapters.” Mia said. “You have to get this into a real book! Imagine the amount of people that will be willing to pay for this. This is so awesome!” Mia exclaimed while I gawked at her. “That is impossible!” I said. “I can't do that! What if they don't like the book or something!”I explained.
