Beyond the Boundaries
I sniffled, wiping at the stupid, stubborn tears that kept slipping free.
“Good,” she said. I wasn’t sure if she could ever truly understand how deep the wounds went, how far they reached into me. But even so, I could feel it in her tone… she didn’t think I was past saving.
"I probably will never be able to understand how deep your wounds are, but I know you're not past saving". She said.
My head snapped up at her words, the force of them slicing clean through the fog in my mind.
“Good,” Eirween said again, voice steady, relentless. “Feel it. Let it burn. Let it move through you like fire through the forest. But don’t let it root inside you. Don’t let it become your home."
