It was me. Not the woman standing in the soot of a junkyard. It was the Phoenix of the Lunar Hub. The woman in the pristine crimson silk coat, her chestnut hair a glossy waterfall, her gold-veined arm raised in a gesture of absolute, terrifying sovereignty. The image was beautiful. It was flawless. It was a goddess captured in a digital frame. Beneath the image, scrolling text in a dozen dialects flared: [WANTED: THE ANCHOR-MOTHER. BOUNTY: SYSTEMIC CLEARANCE. REWARD: IMMUNITY FROM THE LAST PURGE.]

"And here I thought the Shadow Syndicate had some pride left." The shadows exploded. Ten figures materialized from the training shed. Seasoned A-class bounty hunters, clad in dull leather and tactical mana-armor. Synchronized lethality of a wolf pack. I didn't wait. I dropped my center, crimson silk tearing at the hem as I lunged. The first hunter - brute with a serrated shortsword - swung horizontally. I leaned back, spine bending into a bridge, blade hissing an inch above my nose. Planted palms on dirt. Executed a violent headstand-kick. Boots connected with his jaw.

I pull the cable out of my arm, wincing as a drop of blood hits the keyboard, and lean back in the chair, breathing heavily as the digital light in my eyes fades back into human brown. "It’s done," I say, looking up at Liam. Liam reaches out, gently cupping my cheek, his thumb wiping a smudge of soot from my jawline. "Welcome back, Aiden." Before I can answer, the main security monitor on the wall flickers on, displaying a live feed of the corporate lobby downtown. The glass doors shatter inward. A dozen heavily armored bounty hunters rush the lobby, their weapons drawn, led by a figure I never expected to see again.

Kill all these f*ckers and 30 million will be ours!” Another team of bounty hunters wearing black combat uniforms with red leopard heads branded on their chests and backs stormed into the Hall of Evil’s training base camp, Base No. 3. They carried with them massive firepower! For a while, the place was ablaze, and people fell into pools of blood everywhere! After Team George destroyed a base camp of the Hall of Evil and received a bounty of 50 million for the hidden mission, these bounty hunter teams became even crazier!

Plus, the insignia woven into the magic which has made their tattoos, says they are elite mercenaries”, she explained..

Her eyes scan the ground to where the baseball bat lies between the two of them. "Oh, I don't need a weapon. Rather, I enjoy getting my hands dirty." Hunter declares, flexing his arm as he cracks his knuckles, making the tattoo of the scythe or a Grimm Reaper's blade twist on his arm in a menacing manner. The woman takes one look at the tattoo before gulping. Hunter takes a challenging step towards her, forcing her to take a step backward. The woman stumbles once more, petrified, as tears begin to slip from her eyes.

Aaron asked. “You are exceptionally bright, Mr. McReynolds,” Ward replied with a smile. “So… what does this mean?” Kian asked, leaning back in his chair. “So… I’m a Hunter now? I have to go out and kill Vampires?” “You do not have to do anything,” Ward replied with a shrug. “But now that the Transformation process has begun, you will not be able to stop it. The coding within your blood has begun to change. Soon enough, you will be stronger, faster, all the time, like you were yesterday while you were being pursued. There is no stopping it now.”

A huge truck came out of nowhere from his left forcing him to stop the car abruptly making a screeching noise as he held out his arm to keep his mom safe from hitting the dashboard. As soon as the car stopped he realized that he got hurt as blood dripped down his forehead. "Are you alright, mom?" Hunter asked, looking at Emma making sure she wasn't injured. Her eyes were wide as she gave a nod. Hunter glanced at the truck and his eyes narrowed at the driver who got out of the car. That driver's eyes turned golden and Hunter knew he was about to shift. In the blink of an eye, he yanked the gun from under his seat and aimed at that shifting werewolf.
