“Anna, that’s enough.” But it wasn’t. Because they were still there. Still trying. Still reaching. Still a threat. “They’ll keep coming,” I said. “Then we deal with it—” “This is dealing with it.” My hand lifted slightly. And the pressure increased. The first crack echoed. Loud. Sharp. "Go!" Drakon shoves me toward the back of the living room. Outside, the bullhorn blares again. "WE ARE BREACHING IN THREE! TWO!" Glass shatters in the kitchen. A flashbang grenade explodes with a deafening BANG, filling the front of the house with blinding white light and smoke.

It was 8:30am. "I have to go check on Noel.." I mumbled. I got up from bed and brushed my teeth and headed out of my room. I stopped in my tracks when I noticed Hazel sleeping peacefully on the couch in the living room with a book in her hand. "Did she fall asleep while reading?" I smiled and walked towards her. On my way, I ended up bumping into the marble vase on the table beside her and it shattered on the floor with a loud clank. Surprised by the loud noise, Hazel woke up and stared at me, and then at the floor where the broken pieces laid.

When we got back to Ben's house he was awake this time making breakfast. "Dear cheddar!" He yelled as we startled him. "Sorry" I apologized. "Didn't mean to frighten you." "No worries. Just not use to anyone being able to do that around me." He explained and I nodded my head. We tested out our abilities again and (as they say) third time's the charm. We were able to use them to their full extent at the right speed. No lag here. We thanked Ben again, denied his offer for breakfast and headed back to the base.
