In the end, I told myself it was wrong to be petty toward a grieving widow, so I was the one who gave in and apologized. Later, when Ryan wanted to put his ring back on, he couldn't find it anywhere. Luckily, I still had the original design sketches. Since my own ring was getting worn out, I decided to order a brand-new set, identical to the first. But before the rings even arrived, our bond had already shattered. I instinctively rubbed the faint pale mark where my ring used to sit. My old band was still sitting on that table back at the Pack House. "I don't want them. Even if they're brand new and identical, our bond is fractured. There's no going back."

My voice broke, "I... d—" *BANG!*

One, two,three . And with all my force I used the chair to break the window. I heard a cracking sound but when I opened my eyes the window wasn't broken. It just hada few cracks. But what was shattered was the poor wooden chair. It had broken into at least six pieces. I groaned and threw the stick that was still in my hand on the floor and went for the second chair. I repeated the process and counted. One, two, three....

He asked. Mate bonds could be broken but only after three months of the bond. Right, after three months, this entire weird mate bond would be broken and there would be an end to all these sudden weirdness. "Good, your highness. As you wish."

A loud knock sounded and James started banging on the door. -Open the door, I swear to kill you! - he shouted in desperation. He tried to push it but the door wouldn't open. - Not another word, the next one to die will be you," he heard. James recognized the voice. Those words echoed in his head, next to die? Had someone already died? He backed away as far as he could and then picked up speed. He pushed on the door, but it only cracked a little. He cursed the day he decided to buy reinforced doors.

Chris’s arms tighten around me catching me as I fall unable to keep myself up right from the pain. “What’s wrong?” Panic evident in Chris’s voice. “It’s breaking” Is all that I say barely over a whisper.
