Chapter 63 – “Building Again” The mornings had begun to feel different. Clara woke up to the rustle of sheets and the quiet hum of Alex brushing his teeth in the en suite bathroom. The scent of espresso drifted down the hall, and in the kitchen, the CEO of Banks Holdings had somehow developed a surprising talent: making breakfast. “Scrambled or sunny side up?” he called out, still shirtless in grey sweatpants. Clara padded into the kitchen, her bare feet silent against the tiled floor. “Whatever doesn’t burn.”

"Come in " The door opened, and two people walked in, her secretary and a man in a leather jacket and cap. "Chairman Sam, this is Detective Bender." Her secretary said. Bender walked over to Mrs. Sam, and bow to her. "Madam. I'm Bender, I'm a professional detective. How can I help you?" Mrs. Sam motioned his secretary out. "Yes." Her secretary replied. Mrs. Sam looked up at the man. "I have some work for you." She speaks.

“The humans are always so curious about us. They think we’re some rich ranchers or that we’re mining gold in the mountains or something. You’d think with all her nosiness she’d at least know where Zach is. I can’t believe he stood us up like this.” “Well, at least we’ll get a nice hot breakfast out of it,” I say. “And then if he doesn’t show up by the time we’re done, we’ll go look for him.” “Sounds good.” The breakfast is delicious, buttery and salty and crispy like the best diner breakfasts always are. Britney asked, sitting in the glass dining room. "Mr. Castro went to work early in the morning," Parker replied respectfully, placing the exquisite breakfast on the table. Britney glanced at the clock on the wall, "So early?" "Good morning, it seems that Mr. Calderon called earlier and said the car was not fixed yet. So Mr. Castro took the bus this morning..." Britney, who had just taken a sip of porridge, choked twice at Parker's words. Swallowing the porridge, "Squeeze onto the bus?"

The bartender finally spoke leading them to a short hallway. "That explains your behavior," Jace replied. A few walks and they arrived at the final table. The bartender knocked again, the same two knocks as before, and they waited for the door to open. "I know O Haden. Let us just say, he was one of my babysitters before," Kaizer said with a smirk. The bartender was confused but then he realized. "Don't tell me you are a Dragunflare?!" the calm bartender was gone. The door then creaked open inviting them to come in. Kaizer entered immediately.

“I know. But today she’s extra.” Morwen threw a pen at him and he caught it without looking. Out in the waiting room a young mother was losing a slow battle to keep her toddler off the chairs, laughing at herself while she lost it, and a nurse crossed over to help wrangle him. The whole clinic hummed along, ordinary. “Did you eat?” John asked me. “Coffee.” “That’s not food.” He went to the break room and came back with a muffin wrapped in a napkin. “You skipped breakfast. I noticed.”

Soon, there was a knock on the door. Ivanka promptly walked over and opened the door. It was the same person who had received them yesterday. He held two sets of breakfast in his hands. Upon seeing Ivanka and Michael, who was sitting on the sofa, he immediately smiled and said, “I brought breakfast for both of you. After eating, we can set off.” This man was John Bensi, a head of Michael’s branch in this city. He was around forty years old, but he looked like he was just in his early thirties. He was not particularly handsome, but not bad-looking either, with an average build.
