“Pain’s a hell of a teacher.” Kael didn’t smile. He looked… conflicted. “What?” Ezra asked. “There’s an old rite. Almost forgotten,” Kael said, voice low. “It’s called the Firebind.” Ezra raised an eyebrow. “Sounds like something that ends in blood.” Kael didn’t flinch. “It does.” Ezra blinked. “Okay. Comforting.” “It’s not fate,” Kael said. “It’s choice. You tie your power to someone else’s spirit. No prophecy. No bond forced by the moon. Just… a decision.”

My vision blurred, fire roaring in my ears. Aaron moved toward me through the smoke, unharmed. “You can’t win this fight,” he said softly. “You and I are bound. Every wound you give me tears through you, too.” I wiped the blood from my lip and forced a grin. “Guess we’ll find out who breaks first.” I thrust my hands forward, summoning everything I had. Fire erupted from my palms, blindingly bright, streaking through the air in a spiral. Aaron caught it with his bare hand, his body flaring with shadow.

“He trusts me. For some reason.” With a beckoning hand, Fate suggests I step in first. Consumed with fear, I do so, one tentative step after the other. The sweet smell of fresh cherries greets me. For a moment it’s sweet and welcoming, until it sneaks down my nostrils and coats my throat and mouth, turning sour. “That smell is a spell,” Fate explains, talking over my sputtering as he steps through the door. “Keeps the threshold protected against his numerous enemies. Too bad he’s not as powerful as me so it’s not impossible to neutralise.”

“I don’t know how, but it’s back.” “Use it,” he urged, his voice filled with a renewed sense of hope. “You can turn the tide with it.” With a deep breath, I focused on the flames, letting them grow, feeling the power surge through me. I threw my hands out, and fire shot forward, consuming the enemies in its path. It was a beautiful and terrifying sight, the flames licking at the night sky, painting the battlefield in shades of orange and red.

I hope that you will continue along for the ride. The Fated series, that began with Elle and Kade, continues on with the Legacies of Fate series. The first one, that is now officially up as well, follows Angel and our favorite Alpha twins. Just like the original two series, these two new ones will also be crossovers. Even the two men beside him felt the pressure on their bodies but didn’t complain. “Tricks? Fight Like a true man? But no-one else is laughing. I look at Theo and he looks away.

His angry eyes pierced into mine, I receded in discomfort when he clasped my neck. "Where do you think you're going to princess!?." He yells making everywhere shake. "Please, let me go." I beseeched in tears. "I'll destroy you the same way I killed your father, the king." His grip on my neck became tighter, his eyes glowed red as I began to cough out black blood. I was suffocating, my vision became blur, all I could see is darkness taking over me. "Your powers are weak just like your father...." He whispers.

Warm air rises and cold air rushes in underneath to replace it. My face reddened in anger and frustration, tears streaming down to face. I clenched my fists, still standing in the same position, my heartbeat got increased as my eyes looked down in shock. "What did you say?" I whispered, I looked up at him, still crying, hoping for him to tell me that he is wrong "What did you say?" I asked again; my voice sounding low and calm. "What did you say Rayan."
