Breath Without Me

It feels like an invisible weight is sitting directly on my lungs; the pressure is unbearable.
Everything around me seems to spin, blurring into a chaotic mess. I can't focus on a single thing; the world is moving too fast, and it is becoming harder and harder to breathe.
I claw frantically at my throat as tears soak my cheeks. I try to speak, to apologize, but no sound comes out. I reach out for something to stabilize my shaking body, but I can't find anything to hold onto. I feel myself falling, but the hard floor never comes. Instead, strong, familiar arms wrap around me, lifting me entirely off the ground.
