The next morning, Bonnie woke up at daybreak. She had been having nightmares all night. At first, the dream started with Christopher breaking all of her fingers, one at a time. After that, she dreamt that she had suffered a miscarriage, and Jim and Christopher were standing in front of her, laughing at her as she lay in a puddle of her blood. In the Silvermoon pack's hall, I sat at a wooden table while Dad guided me through the basics of running the pack. After forcibly severing the mate bond, I lay unconscious in bed for three full days. When I woke, every memory I had of Jack had vanished. Dad told me it was the price of severing the mate bond and also a blessing from the Moon Goddess.
