A magical, deadly, crazy photoshoot that looked like something from a teen supernatural show. The chains rattled. Every link shook hard. The metal glowed hot. whring—CRACK! The chains broke off my right hand. whring—CRACK! The chains broke off my left hand. The pieces fell to the floor around me with a heavy clang, like the world was dropping its weapons. I didn’t even move. I didn’t need to. The power moved for me. I lifted one hand slowly, feeling something dangerous and beautiful rise inside my chest. I stretched my palm toward the Hunter—even though he was standing far away.

Momentarily stunned, Mia regains her bearings and looks at me. We make eye contact for a split second before our eyes fall to the knife. We moth make a move to grab it, but Mia reaches it first. She holds it up to me and I figure now’s a good time. I raise my arms high above my head, bringing the chains up with me. Then in one fluid motion, I slam my arms down while pulling my arms apart. The hairline fracture that was in the chains split further and they break off.

My muscles strained, and I could feel the tension building. The pain was intense, but I refused to give up. I focused all my energy on breaking free, imagining the chains snapping apart. My vision blurred slightly from the effort, but I kept going, pushing myself harder and harder. And then, something incredible happened. I felt the chains give way, just a little at first, but then more and more. My bare hands, against all odds, began to break the chains. I pulled harder, feeling a surge of strength and determination. The chains creaked and groaned, and finally, with a loud snap, they broke apart. I stumbled back, almost in disbelief, my hands still trembling from the effort.

She pulled the shackle hard, her laugh getting louder and louder as the crack expands. Hellion inhaled deep and exerted her strength on her arm. After gathering her strength, she did one hard pull on her arm, not minding the sound of her bone breaking. She then heard loud clanking sound as the clutch were finally dug out from the wall. She eyed the chain on the ground and slowly lifted her unrestricted hand. The numbness were still there and the weight of the chains were unbearably heavy. However, Hellion didn’t care. She raised her hand and swipe her bangs away from her eyes.

Kaelen cautioned as his thumbs pushed into the links, increasing pressure. The chains trembled, and for an instant, all seemed to wait with bated breath. But then, a gruesome cacophony rent the silence—something similar to the breaking of a thousand strands simultaneously. A howl tore from Miyal's throat, but not his. It was the chains, as they started to break, the black power churning and screaming in the air like the chains themselves were alive, fighting being let go.

Kael felt it immediately…Something was changing again. “You cannot fight this,” the man said. “Those chains are designed for your kind.” Aria finally looked at him directly. “And yet,” she said slowly, “they are already breaking.” For a second, nothing happened. Then…A sharp cracking sound filled the air. Everyone froze instantly. The glowing chains around her wrists began to fracture. “That’s not possible,” one of the hunters said. The man’s eyes narrowed. “Increase the hold,” he ordered. The chains pulsed again, but this time it was brighter.

They seemed to be intricately designed, with a complex system of locks and chains that made them virtually impossible to break free from. The cuffs around my wrists were lined with sharp edges, which cut into my skin every time I struggled against them. The chains that bound my feet were thick and heavy, making it impossible for me to even move my toes. The restraints seemed to be designed to prevent any movement whatsoever, and I could feel the weight of their confinement pressing down on me.

He kept pulling, his eyes fixed on the chains. Suddenly, there was a loud crack, and Liam stumbled backward, surprised. He looked at the chains in amazement, and to his delight, he saw that one of the links had broken. He blinked, squinting at the sight to make sure he wasn’t seeing things. He thought his sight might be playing tricks on him or maybe it was something made up by the night. But his sight wasn’t playing tricks and he knew that when he felt for it. To his shock, it had really loosened!

It was a familiar place. Rusted metallic chains on a filthy desk, scraped walls with unidentified words, and a stone-cold atmosphere. It's uncanny how this room gets even scarier. "Please, don't", I whispered, my voice hoarse and small, "not again plea-" My voice was cut off when I felt a pair of dark, lanky hands against my throat. Tears streamed down my eyes as I started struggling to unlatch the iron hold.

She had already figured out how she was going to make her calculations. She took one strap and counted note by note. The three straps had the same amount, but when she went on the fourth one, it had three fewer notes. She paused, examining the strap, before counting again, but again it was three notes short. Ezra watched with a smile; the shock on her face was priceless. Sarah looked up at him. She grabbed another strap and found it to be normal. The sixth one had two notes missing, and from close inspection, she realized all the straps with missing notes were tempered with.
