But she had changed, and she had destroyed me. I closed my eyes, forcing down the image of Celina standing there. Stronger, steadier, whole in a way that made something inside me twist sharply in response. That wasn’t how it was supposed to go. She was supposed to stay broken. Weak. Dependent.
