I gasped in shock as I stared at my stepbrother Robert who had five arrows stuck in his left leg and one embedded in his shoulder. "Robert..." I could not remember the last time I felt tears sitting in my eyes. Mt brother and I had never had a good relationship but seeing him in this state struck emotions in me that I thought were long buried. I rushed over to him and examined the arrows. Ideally, I was meant to pull them out but from the green pigmentation slowly forming around his wounds, I knew the arrows were poisoned. "You should hurry home brother," he choked. "I won't make it. The arrows are poisoned and if I pull it out, I'll be releasing the poison even more into my bloodstream."

Wrath said. “Wrath the hero,” I said with a grin. “I appreciate this. It helps to know I’ve got backup if I need it.” “Have you spilled blood before?” “Have you had sex before?” I kept looking at the man. Wrath laughed and shook his head. “He’s a Vittori, of course he’s fucking killed before. That’s like a coming of age thing in that family.” “Hudson sends his regards,” I said. All four men cupped their balls simultaneously and I barked out a laugh.

I screamed like a crazy woman, dropping down on my knees as I caught her body from hitting the floor. “Stay with me, Bella. Stay with me," I cried, holding her up as she convulsed blood out of her mouth. I looked up to find Ragnar at the top of the building with another arrow which he shot at my brother and the guard who was helping us to escape. Red blurred my sight as I screamed at my brother's body drop dead from the guard's carriage. Slowly, I watched life slip away from my sister and brother with a silver arrow pierced into their chests.

She could've sworn he was on the verge of snapping it with the way the color of his flesh turned ashen white. And judging by the wince the guy made, Mira was convinced that her brother had a brutal hold on to the guy's hand. "Move," Mason said stiffly with anger. The guy nodded quickly and didn't need to be told twice as he basically ran away from Ava. Ava's eyebrows knot. Why was Mason so angry? Mason's angry stare weighed heavily on Ava’s and then he sneered lowly. "Stop shaking your ass on some random drunk guy. You're lucky I was here or he'd probably drag your ass upstairs and have his way with you."

Luther tries to keep me focused on him, but it’s hard whenever Adam and Blade look at me as if I’m a science experiment. Adam walks back to his desk rubbing his head as if he has a headache. I ask Luther, “Who are you guys? Like what clan or house do you belong to? Sorry, I’m still trying to understand the vampire lingo.” The corner of Luther’s mouth twitches up and he answers, “We’re the Ambrose brothers. So, a part of the Ambrose line.” I nod my head as if I knew what that meant, but honestly, I don’t know much about vampires. Most human societies don’t and my mom tried to keep me from doing research. It’s a miracle that I even knew Arthur Locke’s name.

The men in the front stayed silent, as if they knew to stay out of this storm. Raphael didn’t calm. He grew darker. He pulled out his second phone, dialed with trembling fingers, and when the call connected, his voice became something terrifyingly controlled. “Kill them,” he ordered. “Every last one connected to those brothers. Burn their businesses. Hunt their men in the streets. I want rivers of blood before dawn.”
