My brother doesn’t know how to love people. Our parents died a few years back, and he hasn’t been right since. He had to take over the family company at a young age and he’s---” “A complete jackass about it?” My friend laughed. “Yeah. He’s a complete jackass about it. But um…don’t worry about it. He’ll come around. Just---”

I snapped, losing my patience with his almost intentional misunderstanding. "Watch it." His low voice warned as his eyebrow lifted at me in amusement. "The difference is that you're going around telling people we were step-siblings before this. That's not something to tell people Jack. I don't want people knowing that." I pushed as I stared up at him. His eyes narrowed at me as he lifted his lips into a slight smirk before speaking. "Why'd you fuck your stepbrother then?" He questioned as his eyebrows furrowed together. I stayed silent not really knowing what to say to that.

I walked toward him, standing to look out the window. He shrugged his shoulders. “Who knows? I do think that he is ready for it this time, but I thought that last time. So, I don’t think my judgement is all that great.” He laughed, turning to look at dad who was still nursing his drink. “Are you flying in early?” I chuckled to myself. My brother was always quite insightful. “Yes. I leave tomorrow morning.” He crossed his arms over his chest, eyeing me closely. “And how is Amalia doing?”

" Brother " He turned and smiled at his sister. No matter what was on his mind, the only thing he really should be thinking about was his little sister's well-being, even though right now, the biological father factor was the impossible and annoying variant of 'the equation. Which makes everything he does more difficult.

With a sad expression on his face, he raised his eyes to Luna. "third sister in law , I can accept life and death due to natural and man-made disasters, but I can't bear this kind of deliberate killing." Luna nodded, "I can understand your mood."
